Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ® presents Circus XTREME #sponsored

Disclosure: I received tickets in exchange for promotion for this event.
The circus is coming to town! Clowns and acrobats and lions Oh My !!!

High-wire wizards, powerful strongmen, BMX trick riders, trampoline daredevils, inconceivable contortionists, a high-flying human cannonball, a bungee aerial skydiving display and an international assembly of more than 300 cast and crew provide 2 ½ hours of thrilling entertainment.
With such an exciting lineup, The Greatest Show On Earth® guarantees to dazzle and astound, and a Ringling Bros.® show wouldn’t be complete without a full menagerie of amazing animals. Circus XTREME features beautiful Bengal tigers and two-humped camels ridden by brave Mongolian women

This year, Ringling Bros. and  Barnum & Bailey has introduced the first-ever female ringmaster , Kristen Michelle Wilson.
My boys, my sister, and I will get to see Ms. Wilson in action on January 27, 2017 at Amelie Arena, in Tampa, Florida.

Our visit to the circus this year will be bittersweet. We recently read that the Ringling Bros. and  Barnum & Bailey will end all Circus shows in May 2017. This 146 year tradition comes with a lot of controversy regarding animal rights, but it comes with tons of sadness. Maybe not a lot of older kids like to go to the circus, but plenty of younger ones still love to attend.
My sister was in tears. She's loved the circus her entire life. She is considering flying to NY for the final performance, that's how big of a fan she is.

We will make the most of our time and enjoy the evening as it will be our last large circus event.

It's been a while - moving on and up

My posts have been basically non-existent lately, and for that I apologize.
I've begun working [from home] full-time.
My SIL is a design consultant and clothing designer in NYC.
We have had a shake up at home, so I needed to work full time while still being able to take care of my boys without the after school care option. I'm grateful to my SIL for letting me add more hours on...
In February, I'll be working backstage at New York Fashion Week, helping 25 girls get ready for a her Fashion Show !! Totally Excited !!!!

So what is going on with us ???

Why Do I run - An I Run 4 Runniversary story #IRun4Joshua

Today, November 4th, marks 3 years that I have paired up with my I Run 4 Michael buddy Joshua.

When we began, Joshua was 9, had a feeding tube and carried his meal replacements with him. He was a bit defiant (no, not a pre-teen boy). His Cerebral Palsy not so prevalent to me. I saw a boy who could be my own son. He was right in between my oldest and middle sons. Smart, testing boundaries and eager to pave his own path.
Needless to say, I fell in love with him right away.

I had just begun running earlier in the year. May 3rd is when I began, to be exact.
My friend and fellow blogger Jennifer, was running for her buddy and kept posting photos. I was curious. She gave me the information and I decided in September 2013 to sign up to be matched.

I train to be a better runner for not only myself, but for Joshua. I send him medals I have earned. If there are no medals, then shirts, pins, bracelets. Whatever I receive, I send to him.

There are so many people wanting to make the connection, to run 4 someone, but not always enough buddies to go around. We need to spread awareness and send the message of unity to everyone.
That way, people get matched sooner and friendships can begin to form and blossom.

Over the past 3 years, Joshua and I have shared our love of baseball. We've chatted during the times our beloved Oakland A's and Tampa Bay Rays have played against each other.
Joshua played 3 seasons of Little League Baseball as well.

Joshua's amazing parents. Jess & Jim adopted both Joshua and his older brother as infants. Both were born with special needs. Both are amazing young men who have parents who love them for who they are.

Because of I Run 4, I have met so many wonderful people, made so many wonderful friends and have been able to share special moments with other I run 4 athletes and buddies. I have even encouraged my son Luke to do the same , and while he doesn't run too much, he does give support to his run buddy.

My life is forever changed. While we are currently 3000 miles apart, we do have hopes to meet one day.
