Visiting the New York State Police - Earning our Cub Scout Forensics Elective

Our Cub Scouts have opportunities to earn belt loops that are not mandatory. They can earn them on their own or with a group.
My youngest, CJ, has earned his fair share on his own, and several with his den, both in Florida and here in New York.

Recently, our 3rd grade  Bear Scouts, had the opportunity to visit a local New York State Police station. They met a Detective and an officer with the Forensics team.

We all learned about fingerprints, how to identify types of fingerprints, and the methods in which the Forensics Officers can retrieve fingerprints from various locations.

Taking my energy level up a notch with Exogenous Ketone Supplement #review

I recently had the opportunity to try the Exogenous Ketone Supplement, in Lemon Lime flavor. I have been looking for something to help boost my energy and suppress my appetite and I thought, why not give this product a try.

The powder definitely has the lemon lime smell and it fizzes like a seltzer.

I wasn't prepared for it.. The fizzy got me and I seriously considered not finishing my very 1st glass, but I did.

I can say that my appetite was suppressed well and I did have increased energy about 30 minutes after I drank this. It has been a good boost for me on the mornings I want to hit the gym first thing.

I have not seen any difference on focusing, which I have read that mental sharpness or focus can occur if used on an empty stomach.

If you are looking for an, Exogenous Ketone Supplement, I would recommend this product.

A move, an update, and an apology

This past month and a half have been CRAZY !!!

We moved in our new home on 12/14/17. 10 days later, we have 17 people (including the 5 of us), for Christmas Eve/Day ! Unpacking and getting the house organized in 10 days, plus Christmas Shopping, decorating, oh yes, and I took on a Seasonal 2nd job.. well... That was INSANE ! !!

I apologize for not keeping my blog as updated as I need to be.

I've been trying to stay on top of my Facebook page, so I'm at least, a little visible.

Since Christmas, not too much has happened.

We had a couple of warm days. It hit 57 and so the boys wore shorts.
I'm not sure it was quite shorts weather, but they were super happy !
The little one and I did not embrace the weather and maintained our "It's still too cold for shorts" stance...

Hubby turned 45 !!
Birthday Selfie !

There has been sickness in the house and just today, the youngest was diagnosed with INFLUENZA !
So we had to shell out a car payments worth of money to get him generic Tamiflu, but it'll be worth it to have him better again!

We've learned to embrace the snow and the boys went sledding recently. Since I had just gotten over a very bad fever. I stood by, bundled up nice and warm and took video :)

Though, I'm not sure I'll ever really enjoy digging my car out from under frozen ice and snow!

So right now, we are just living life for each day.
Grateful that we wake up every morning !!

Thanks for hanging around !!

Cordless Headphones by Vitchelo #ad

I received these great Bluetooth headphones made by Vitchelo.
I gave them to hubby, who loves to watch Star Wars videos on his laptop.
He sometimes struggles to devote his attention fully, since the kids are somewhat loud and distracting.

He has been using them for a week now.

Here is what he has to say.
1) The headphones are comfortable. He’s very particular about headphones and how they fit.
2) The sound quality is clear.  There is no static and the volume is good.
3) Battery Life is a plus. He hasn’t used these for driving or anything, just for watching YouTube, but the battery life is good so far.

The carry case is nice because he puts the headphones in his work bag and he kbows they ate safe.
The only thing he’d change would be the length of the cgarging cable. Its quite shortly.

Otherwise, they are perfect!

Finding the right car with cars.com

This is a sponsored post :) All opinions are my own.

Earlier this year, I was in the market for a newer vehicle.
My husband and I had planned to wait until we moved to New York, but due to circumstances beyond our control, I found myself needing one this past March.

I started out wanting a SUV. Honestly, I still want an SUV, but finding one with decent miles and in my price range was not possible. So the hunt was on for another minivan.

My dream SUV is a Dodge Durango.. What I purchased was a Chrysler Town and Country.

The search through Cars.com made it easy to find the right vehicle, right miles, and right price.

They listed a lot of details and I was able to communicate with the seller easily.

I like that you can also sell your car on Cars.com. The site offers options to those looking to sell. You can submit information to local car dealers or sell it on your own. There is even a tool to help you determine the worth of your vehicle.

Another great feature is Service and Repair. Whether you are a Di It Yourself kind of person, or needing a repair shop to figure out the issue with your vehicle, cars.com offers different options to guide you through the process.
You can ever search to see if you have any recalls on your car!

I am very pleased with my cars.com experience and if there is ever a time I need a car, I will look to this site first !!

Why I chose the Women's Vintage Floral Lace Wrap Dress #ad

I've been looking for a dress for my husband's upcoming Christmas party. I wanted something with lace or satin and not really "wintery". Then I found the Women's Vintage Floral Lace Wrap Dress. I chose this dress in a Royal Blue color.

When I received the dress, my initial reaction was joy !
It is just as beautiful in person! Then I put on the dress..
While the measurements say that they would fit my bust size, as you can tell from the photo, that is hardly the case. I will definitely be wearing a camisole with this dress!

The fit otherwise is great. The length is perfect and the sleeves flow nicely.

I then noticed the care label. Traditionally, the car label would be on the inside of the dress. However, I received one that is on the outside of the satin and just under the lace.

Not terribly classy for a Christmas party. I'll be removing it!

Overall, the dress is nice for the price.
I wouldn't recommend it to large busted women though.
I'll be dressing it up a little for the party and can't wait to show it off !!

Walking and driving Hands free with Soulsoundmagic Bluetooth earbud #ad

I received this product for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
Here in the State of New York, and now in most states, you are not allowed to hold your phone while driving. You must use a Bluetooth headset, or the Bluetooth in your car.

I already have a great wireless Bluetooth headset, mostly that I use for running. But when I'm driving, I don't like using them because I am tuned out to the rest of the world. Even at my desk (I work from home), I  still need to listen for the door, or the phone, so I don't wear my  headset.

Since I have begun using the Soulsoundmagic Bluetooth earbud, I don't feel tuned out.
I can speak to my kids if they are in the car or even at my desk. I can answer the phone if needed when I'm driving.

The Soulsoundmagic Bluetooth earbud is USB rechargeable and the battery life is about 6 hours. It pairs easily to iOS and Android and the sound quality is fabulous.

Here's a quick video I made:

We made a Swedish Fire Log ! You can too ..

We went camping in August with our new Cub Scout Pack and learned about Swedish Fire Logs.
We had never heard of this and loved the idea of making one.

Hubby and I found a perfect log to make this project with. Actually, the log was so big, we made two!

It doesn't matter if you Stand or Kneel - In My Opinioin

There is a huge debate going on right about standing or kneeling during the National Anthem during NFL games.

Let's look at some things. Tim Tebow kneeled out of respect for his religion, not out of disrespect for the Flag. He was ridiculed, teased and taunted. Colin Kaepernick kneeled for the injustice to African American people by Law Enforcement, he no longer has a job in the NFL. Alejandro Villanueva stood when his team (divided in their ideals), and the apologized for not being united with his teammates.

In my opinion, the NFL decided to take it upon themselves to discern [President] Donald Trump's comment, in their own way. Some kneeled, some sat on the bench, some stood arm in arm, some kneeled with standing players behind them showing support, and then, some didn't even come to the field.

The United States of America is a melting pot. We come from all different backgrounds, races, religions, and beliefs. The Men and Women who proudly serve in All Branches of the Armed Forces deserve respect. Does that mean you cannot kneel? Does that mean that if you do not clearly sing the National Anthem that you are un-American?

I grew up where we stood every morning in school, said The Pledge of Allegiance, Sang the National Anthem, and God Bless America. This was in a public school. Some of our children do not say The Pledge of Allegiance in school anymore, much less know the words to our National Anthem.

I think RESPECT is what is lost here. At any game (NFL or MLB) that I have been to, they say "PLEASE STAND for our National Anthem". There are people who do not stand. I do not hear every person singing, heck, some don't even bother to remove their beloved baseball caps. I do not see them ridiculed.

I RESPECT our Flag, I RESPECT the men and women who served, have served, have sacrificed their lives while serving, have sacrificed their lives because of their service, and the Gold Star Families who lost loved ones because of their service.

I also believe in GOD. I do not judge those who don't kneel during Mass Services. It is not my place.

I cannot tell Colin Kaepernick not to kneel because of his silent, non-violent protest. I cannot tell Tim Tebow not to kneel because of his love for the LORD, and I refuse to accept Alejandro Villanueva's apology. No man or woman should ever apologize for giving respect to their country.

This is their right, as Americans. It is their right under the 1st Amendment.
You may not agree with them. That is YOUR right.

But it is up to each of us, including Colin Kaepernick, Tim Tebow, Alejandro Villanueva, and every person who lives freely in the United States of America, to RESPECT !

RESPECT each other.
RESPECT our country.
RESPECT our Military.
RESPECT our National Flag.

We must be UNITED in RESPECT.

These are just my opinions. This is how we raise our children. They are the future.

They may be spoiled to a certain extent. But they RESPECT their parents (mostly... if you have a teenager, please tell me it gets better), they RESPECT GOD, and I teach them to RESPECT others. The decisions another person makes is their decision. Right or wrong. We have to respect that.

What right do you have to demand this, without giving it in return?

Sharing my favorite Coconut Cream Pie Recipe and topping the pie with fun icing tips ! #ad

I am sharing with you my absolute favorite recipe for Coconut Cream Pie.
My husband asks for this pie for his birthday and I make it 2 or 3 times a year in addition to that.

I truly believe the secret is adding the coconut milk. It really does add a smoothness to this pie.

Relocation Complete ... Moving is not so fun

On June 19th, we said goodbye to everything
we'd know for almost 30 years.

We left the only home our children had ever known, their friends, all of the "security blankets" of family and friends, and made the 2 day trek to New York.

It was not pleasant. Not by any means.

Reusable #straws for everyone in my family ! #ad

Among the recent reviews I have received, along came straws. Yep, straws...

Those fun plastic ones that you use with Mason Jars, Pinterest Photos, and milkshakes,
I have a new batch of them !
