Walking and driving Hands free with Soulsoundmagic Bluetooth earbud #ad

I received this product for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
Here in the State of New York, and now in most states, you are not allowed to hold your phone while driving. You must use a Bluetooth headset, or the Bluetooth in your car.

I already have a great wireless Bluetooth headset, mostly that I use for running. But when I'm driving, I don't like using them because I am tuned out to the rest of the world. Even at my desk (I work from home), I  still need to listen for the door, or the phone, so I don't wear my  headset.

Since I have begun using the Soulsoundmagic Bluetooth earbud, I don't feel tuned out.
I can speak to my kids if they are in the car or even at my desk. I can answer the phone if needed when I'm driving.

The Soulsoundmagic Bluetooth earbud is USB rechargeable and the battery life is about 6 hours. It pairs easily to iOS and Android and the sound quality is fabulous.

Here's a quick video I made:

We made a Swedish Fire Log ! You can too ..

We went camping in August with our new Cub Scout Pack and learned about Swedish Fire Logs.
We had never heard of this and loved the idea of making one.

Hubby and I found a perfect log to make this project with. Actually, the log was so big, we made two!

It doesn't matter if you Stand or Kneel - In My Opinioin

There is a huge debate going on right about standing or kneeling during the National Anthem during NFL games.

Let's look at some things. Tim Tebow kneeled out of respect for his religion, not out of disrespect for the Flag. He was ridiculed, teased and taunted. Colin Kaepernick kneeled for the injustice to African American people by Law Enforcement, he no longer has a job in the NFL. Alejandro Villanueva stood when his team (divided in their ideals), and the apologized for not being united with his teammates.

In my opinion, the NFL decided to take it upon themselves to discern [President] Donald Trump's comment, in their own way. Some kneeled, some sat on the bench, some stood arm in arm, some kneeled with standing players behind them showing support, and then, some didn't even come to the field.

The United States of America is a melting pot. We come from all different backgrounds, races, religions, and beliefs. The Men and Women who proudly serve in All Branches of the Armed Forces deserve respect. Does that mean you cannot kneel? Does that mean that if you do not clearly sing the National Anthem that you are un-American?

I grew up where we stood every morning in school, said The Pledge of Allegiance, Sang the National Anthem, and God Bless America. This was in a public school. Some of our children do not say The Pledge of Allegiance in school anymore, much less know the words to our National Anthem.

I think RESPECT is what is lost here. At any game (NFL or MLB) that I have been to, they say "PLEASE STAND for our National Anthem". There are people who do not stand. I do not hear every person singing, heck, some don't even bother to remove their beloved baseball caps. I do not see them ridiculed.

I RESPECT our Flag, I RESPECT the men and women who served, have served, have sacrificed their lives while serving, have sacrificed their lives because of their service, and the Gold Star Families who lost loved ones because of their service.

I also believe in GOD. I do not judge those who don't kneel during Mass Services. It is not my place.

I cannot tell Colin Kaepernick not to kneel because of his silent, non-violent protest. I cannot tell Tim Tebow not to kneel because of his love for the LORD, and I refuse to accept Alejandro Villanueva's apology. No man or woman should ever apologize for giving respect to their country.

This is their right, as Americans. It is their right under the 1st Amendment.
You may not agree with them. That is YOUR right.

But it is up to each of us, including Colin Kaepernick, Tim Tebow, Alejandro Villanueva, and every person who lives freely in the United States of America, to RESPECT !

RESPECT each other.
RESPECT our country.
RESPECT our Military.
RESPECT our National Flag.

We must be UNITED in RESPECT.

These are just my opinions. This is how we raise our children. They are the future.

They may be spoiled to a certain extent. But they RESPECT their parents (mostly... if you have a teenager, please tell me it gets better), they RESPECT GOD, and I teach them to RESPECT others. The decisions another person makes is their decision. Right or wrong. We have to respect that.

What right do you have to demand this, without giving it in return?

Sharing my favorite Coconut Cream Pie Recipe and topping the pie with fun icing tips ! #ad

I am sharing with you my absolute favorite recipe for Coconut Cream Pie.
My husband asks for this pie for his birthday and I make it 2 or 3 times a year in addition to that.

I truly believe the secret is adding the coconut milk. It really does add a smoothness to this pie.

Relocation Complete ... Moving is not so fun

On June 19th, we said goodbye to everything
we'd know for almost 30 years.

We left the only home our children had ever known, their friends, all of the "security blankets" of family and friends, and made the 2 day trek to New York.

It was not pleasant. Not by any means.

Reusable #straws for everyone in my family ! #ad

Among the recent reviews I have received, along came straws. Yep, straws...

Those fun plastic ones that you use with Mason Jars, Pinterest Photos, and milkshakes,
I have a new batch of them !

Loving my LED Remote Control Umbrella Light #ad #review

I recently received the  LED Umbrella Light with Remote Control for review. I was really interested in this product because if the multitude of uses this product can provide to my family.

The LED Umbrella Light with Remote Control takes 4 AA Batteries and has a remote control that can store within the light itself.

Right now, the light is hanging over my grill. We have a grill canopy but no light, this light is perfect. There are 3 settings : Off, Bright, and REALLY Bright!

Since the light can be easily transported, we'll be taking it with us camping. I'm a fan of having light in my tent, and this is going to definitely provide enough light.

The remote doesn't work from too far away.

Another good use for this light, besides camping, cooking, and your umbrella, would be if you lose power. That hasn't happened to us in a while, but I know that sometimes having good light in a dark house, especially with small children, is very important.

My youngest sked the other day if he could build a pillow and sheet fort in his room and use the light in the fort. I thought this was a creative way to use the light.

I can imagine that my boys will want to take the light when they camp with scouts.

Why settle for everyday pizza? We made Pizza Bombs !

Once again, we set out to find a new way to repurpose a favorite meal ...
PIZZA !!!!!!!

We've made our own pizza from pre-made dough, done calzones, French bread pizza , but the other night, we tried something new.

We came across a Pinterest Pin from Sizzling Eats and her Pepperoni & Cheese Pizza Bombs.

I took a family poll and in a unanimous decision, we tried something new !
The finished product

Since we are a family of 5 with 3 growing boys who ADORE pizza, I tripled the recipe provided.

We also added our own flare...

Our ingredients were:
3 rolls of Crescent Dough
Pizza Sauce
Pepperoni
Salami
Fresh Mozzarella
Freshly diced Roma tomatoes
Basil
Salami
1 tbsp. melted butter
Oregano

We followed directions  with preparation for the Pizza bombs, but added our own ingredients

Ingredients we used

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Spray a muffin tin with non stick
  3. Open your crescent dough and lay each triangle over an open muffin tin space (I found it easier to use my cutting board)
  4. Add one teaspoon of your favorite Pizza or pasta sauce to each triangle
  5. Add your own favorite ingredients
  6. Wrap each triangle over and fold into a ball
  7. Use pastry brush to top with melted butter
  8. Sprinkle with herbs (we used oregano)
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown
  10. Serve with an additional side of warm pizza or pasta sauce
  11. Enjoy while still warm and gooey.
My well loved muffin tin

There were no leftovers. Everyone agreed that this should be something we add to our rotating monthly meal menu.

What would you add to your Pizza bombs?

Our Favorite Breakfast ... Remastered

We love breakfast for dinner, but sometimes, the same old things gets... well... old...

So I went searching Pinterest for options to change up our favorite meals.

We start with Pancakes and Bacon. Definitely #1 on the list of breakfast for all 5 of us ! As I searched, I would ask the opinions of the boys. Some of the items I found were not received terribly well, except for the one I am going to share with you today.

Pinterest took me to the website Lade Behind The Curtain and her Buffet Pancake Dippers.

Here is what you will need:
Pancake mix
Bacon
Maple Syrup
Griddle (or Pan if that is how you make pancakes) Set mine at 350 degrees
Non-stick spray (optional)

In the "How To" video, she used non-stick cooking spray on her griddle, which I never do, so I listed it optional. Also, she used half of a strip of bacon in each of her dippers. We chose to use a full strip of bacon. We ♥ Bacon !!!

So here is how it went down..
Cooked a full package of bacon in the oven
Made pancake batter
Put batter in my handy squeeze bottle
Created a rectangular pancake on the hot griddle
Put a piece of bacon on pancake
Added a little pancake batter over the bacon
Flipped when ready

Served with maple syrup, a fruit plate and devoured by my family !

How Receptra Prime helped my soldier #ad

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Receptra Naturals. The opinions and text are all mine.
I was given the opportunity to try Receptra Prime Hemp Oil.
I personally have no use for it, but one person came to mind.
My brother.

My little brother has many ailments, including but not limited to, Sciatica pain, back pain, neck pain, PTSD, remnants of a stroke (at age 36) and a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).
All of these stem from 5 deployments and 20 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard Reserves.

Before I accepted this product, I did speak to him about testing this for me.

After 2 weeks of using the Receptra Prime Hemp Oil, he has given me his review.

The flavor, and/or fragrance is pleasant.
The oil helped with back and sciatica mostly. He felt that the sharpness of the pain he feels daily was seriously dulled.
He has had no side effects.

Would he recommend this product to fellow soldiers who suffer similar ailments? Yes he would.
This product is better than some of the narcotics that his body has gotten used to and no longer work.

I tried the Epielle 3 Step Facial Kit - Collagen

After dropping off the oldest child at the skating rink, I wandered into my local Big Lots to browse, before heading home.

I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just wanted a quick quiet stroll. I was almost to the register [not empty handed either], when I came across is shelf with beauty products.

Now, I'm not one to go seeking out the beauty aisle. It's a chore for me to slap on make-up and I'm a premium member of the #MessyHairDon'tCare club !

But I do like a good face mask and like to try new things that will help my ever aging skin.

So there were these 2 kits from Epielle on the shelf, that cost $2.00 each.
I thought, why not...

Earlier this year, I "became a traitor" so says my kid, and switched to an iPhone. I decided to try a time-lapsed video of me trying this mask. I used iMovie to create the video below ↓

My face (several hours later), still feels nice. There was no residue, no sticky-icky feeling.
I'm pretty happy with it. Next week, I'll try the other mask.

I'm not entirely sure I'm going to see results, like actually in the mirror "Oh My" results, but maybe my skin, my face, likes me a little more today ...
