No News Saturday

And yes, the title says it all, No News...

It has been a fairly quiet Saturday. Highs hitting 104 & 110 degrees in some areas prohibited the boys from alot of outside activity today, but their Dad did seem to manage to survive the lawn work (Thanks honey).

We did hit the grocery & after comparing the Winn-Dixie Sales Ad to what I normally pay at Super-Walmart, we ended up braving the Oldsmar Super Walmart crowd. It wasn't bad, I stuck to my list & saved $9.05 in coupons..

Plus, taking hubby always means impulse buying.. Like Red Bull and donuts ..

We splurged our 1 night a week dinner out & had yummy Country Pizza Inn...

We got a freebie Red Box and looking forward to watching Hot Tub Time Machine.

I am looking for new items to reviews and products to giveaway.
I need to formulate a PR letter to go out..

And my To Do List grows :)

Shopping today Thanks to Florida Frugal Family and Hubby

I won an Old Navy Coupon from Florida Frugal Family (Thank You) and I could not wait to get my boys some new school clothes. Now, I had to use the certificate by a certain time and decided today would be a good day.. While my purchases were mostly full price :( I did get some of the items I needed
Luke got 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of pants, 1 shirt, and a belt. Anthony got 1 pair of pants and one shirt.
Now, Luke needs more than Anthony due to the *hand me down factor*. I have Space Bags sorted by size and really, Anth is set! Luke is more difficult. The shorts "have to be" below the knee and the shirts "need" to be cool. Whatever!
I do not remember being this picky about my clothes at 7 years old.
I also purchased a couple of items for myself. 3 of the $2.00 Cami's, 2 tanks, and a skirt.
I walked out the door paying $67.36 after my $50 off$100 coupon.

I had also gone to Kohl's today because last weekend hubby received a $10 store credit coupon & then had $3.00 left on a gift card, so I was able to accommodate my children in a "cool" t-shirt fix..
Each boy chose his own Tony Hawk t-shirt and I walked out the door paying $6.52

CSN Stores Review updated 7/30/10

I am in the market for a new diaper bag!

Since I am doing a giveaway for CSN Stores, I figured I should try them out as well.
I am being provided with a $20.00 give certificate to put towards an item of my choosing.

I am pretty hard on my diaper bags and need lots of organization since all 3 of my boys tend to stuff things in my bag, which also doubles as my purse.
I am looking forward to reviewing the
Skip Hop Duo Deluxe Edition Diaper Bag in Chocolate Brown

It is a fair price, seems quite versatile, and a nice neutral color....

***************

It looks like I may be getting this by Thursday 7/29.. Oh, the anticipation!! YAY!

***************
I received my bag yesterday 7/29, and while i got everything in it, it was not until today I had the opportunity to test it out.

I LOVE this bag! I love how padded the pad on the strap is.. I will not be removing it. It feels fabulous on my shoulder!
The construction of the bag is solid. The color is nice, the pockets are very deep and i love the magnetic closure in the middle.

The delivery time seemed "appropriate". Not overnight but didn't take 10 days either.
Ordering from CSN.com was easy. Maneuvering around their site was not difficult.

If I need to order online in the future, I would definitely browse CSN.com for their deals.

Here are some pictures of my bag:

The Fragrance Collection by Glade, Soy Based Candle Review

The Fragrance Collection by Glade Review

Soy Based Candle
Jasmine and Wild Orchid
2.0oz

I am not a huge fan of Soy candles. I do not feel like they permeate my home as much as some of the other candles types do.

I do love Glade candles though. Their basic 4oz jarred candles in almost any scent, makes my home delightful. The scented oil candles produced by Glade as well are one of my most favorites.

Today I am focusing on a candle I purchased at Target. It is “The Fragrance Collection Candle by Glade, Soy Based, Jasmine and Wild Orchid 2.0oz”.

This candle retailed for $2.99 but was marked on clearance to $2.54. I would have normally not purchased this candle at even the clearance price, but in my handy dandy coupon organizer, I held a $2.00 off coupon for ANY “The Fragrance Collection item”.I paid $0.54 for this particular candle.

I love any Jasmine scent and purple is my favorite color. The aroma in the jar is very pleasing. The shape of the votive is sleek and modern.

The candle has been lit for quite some time and I have yet to smell the Jasmine or Wild Orchid scent from a few feet away. So as I am at my computer, I have the candle just 20 inches or so from me and I still do not smell any of the candle’s aromas.

If I pick up the candle and sweep it just under my nose, the Jasmine scent is quite pleasant.

I am disappointed with this candle. I wanted to give this one a try as it was very minimal on my pocketbook and the Glade brand usually does not let me down.

If this candle scent were to come in any other of their candle forms, I would certainly stock up. But it looks like even with Glade, soy is just not working for me.

HAAN FS-30-PLUS Steam Cleaning Floor Sanitizer Review

Last year we purchased the HAAN FS-30 Steam Cleaner. I so dislike mopping an the residue chemicals tend to leave, the drying time, and my children and Jack Russell Terrier trying to explore the bucket of dirty water (yuck!).

We purchased the steamer with the carpeting attachment because anyone who has children and carpet know that sticky things appear out of nowhere. The steamer came with 2 washable reusable pads, a small container to use for pouring the water in the steamer, the carpet/furniture attachment & a resting pad. This set us back $109.95 with free shipping.

I cannot tell you how easy this is! I cannot say enough about this cleaner. Not only do my tile floors sparkle, all the gunk comes off, but they dry quickly. Less than 10 minutes after using the steamer, it is dry and ready for use. All I am putting into this steamer is water!

The carpet attachment has been useful for me when i find small dried mats of scariness in my carpet. I use the carpet attachment, let it steam over the area for a minute or two and the gunk softens up easily and comes out of the carpet without hassle. The I can clean my carpet with whatever I need to, to remove the stain.

I thorw the cleaning pads in the wash with the towels we use outside (drying the cars after a wash, or drying off the dog) and they are still in excellent condition.

Now, my floors do need a good scrubbing down every once in a while and I am all for that, but forget the floor cleaners that need disposable pads and chemicals cleaners that set you back loads of money! This steamer pays for itself over and over.

The Haan steamer is purchaseable on several websites. I am including the link to NewEgg where we purchased ours. This link will give you features and specifics.

Golf Camp

Our 2rd year of Golf Camp at St. Andrew's Links in Dunedin is going very well.
After winning 3rd place last year in the Father's Day Golf Tourney with his Dad, Luke's interest in golf has soared. The same Pro Teacher has been there forever and this year the amount of children attending has grown.
Luke's skill and behaviour on the course is matured and once camp is over, I think he is going to sweet talk his Dad to take him out for a round on the course.
Since Luke is not interested in many other sports, this excites me how much he loves golf. It is also an opportunity for him to be able to bond with not only his dad, but his grandparents as well. Hopefully once he gets a couple more years under his belt, his Dad will be willing to take him to the Master's Golf Tournament in Augusta!

Rock N Learn Phonics DVD (Volumes 1 and 2) Review and Giveaway

Rock N’ Learn Review and Giveaway

I was given the opportunity the have my 2 older children review Rock N’ Learn Phonics DVD’s Volume 1 and Volume 2.

At first, my 7 year old, Luke, was not excited. It was “learning”. My 4 year old, Anthony, couldn’t get it into the DVD player fast enough.

Here is a quick scoop on what the DVD’s are about (from Rock N’ Learn.com)
Rock ‘N Learn Phonics DVD and audio CD programs provide an easy and fun way to learn the phonics skills that lead to reading and spelling success. Catchy songs and rhymes help students remember basic phonics rules, vowels, consonants, blends, digraphs, silent e, and much more. Delayed answers and the on-screen mouth (Phonics videos) allow learners to check their progress and use these programs independently. Our new Phonics Volume 1 and Phonics Volume 2 DVDs have been improved in two ways: much better animation and a lot more content to help students become confident readers. Students practice reading sentences and stories to apply the rules they have learned. These phonics video programs now have fun characters, sentence practice, read-along stories, and exercises to boost fluency.

Anthony is going into VPK this fall and Luke into the 2nd grade.

Luke felt that Volume 1 was more of a review for him as far as the content was concerned but Anthony couldn’t get enough. He has watched the DVD a half a dozen times since we received it on Saturday (7/24) and sings the songs any chance he gets.

Anthony especially liked the “putting it all together” section on Volume 1. The intro was a puzzle, which he loves. He is not fluent at the words but loves to try to read and putting the consonants and vowels together really interested him.

Volume 2 was a little too advanced for Anthony and still review for Luke, but he seemed more interested in Volume 2. Luke is getting into reading chapter books. Ph and Gh was a big deal for him in school last year and I was excited to see it on Volume 2. He felt more confident reading just a few paragraphs of one of his favorite books after watching Volume 2. There was actually one page in particular that had been giving him trouble and he went directly to that page and applied lessons from the DVD to help. It was amazing to watch him figure it out.

SSA Public Relations and Rock N Learn have been very generous in allowing my children and I to not only view both DVD, but to give us the opportunity to offer (1) one lucky blog reader to win a copy of Rock N Learn Phonics Volumes 1and 2. ARV $39.98

Itzy Ritzy Review

Itzy Ritzy Products are fabulous. They also offer green and eco friendly products..
They offer a wide variety of patterns, products, and are reasonably priced.

I recently received 2 Itzy Ritzy bags from ItzyRitzy.com

1 Skull Snack Bag

1 Large Wet Happened bag

I intend to use the snack bag for my oldest son's lunch instead of continually using Ziploc bags for snacks, so I have not used it as of yet. Next week for golf camp will be my 1st try.

However, I did use my Wet Happened bag.
I was able to contain 2 Digital Camera and 1 camcorder with ease and with my concern of rain, we experienced a HUGE rainstorm and my cameras stayed dry. The bag was in a backpack in the stroller while we were runny to the covered area.

I intend to use this now when we go to the pool so store wet swimsuits for my boys after they change.. this will save them being rolled up in wet towels and soaking my car.

I absolutely love my Itzy Ritzy bags and will consider purchasing them in the future as gifts for my family members.

Super Saturday

Okay, so First, a little McD's recap.. Strawberry Banana Smoothies ROCK! Even if you freeze them and let them rethaw.. they are still great.

Today (Sat) we had a garage sale in which my boys sought out & purged a great many toys.. They intend to repurchase newer ones. But they did stay outside for the entire morning and make their own sales so They will reap their rewards.

Tonight are going to a Minor League baseball game in conjunction with the Cub Scouts. The Clearwater Threshers are one of our local teams and they have a great facility. We also got a fabulous deal with our scouts and will be joined by my MIL & FIL.. Love it!

Thanks to all who are now following, and have entered my contest.

It's a Date... Night

So not that Hubby & I get to go out alot alone or anything, tonight will again be NOT one of those nights, LOL !!

My husband's works is sponsoring a movie night at a local cinema with free food/beverage.
So after working all day long with these people, we are leaving our 3 boys at home with their beloved Miss Kate (family friend, my baby brother's ex-gf, who is really like my sister, long story), to go watch Twilight: Eclipse.

Now, do not wrinkly your nose up, because secretly you are a Team Jacob, Team, Edward, or as I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago, a Team Bella (she derserves her own team, right) fan...
I have read the book series and now am comparing it to the movie version.

Hubby may never admit to his friends he has watched the 1st 2 and may tell them he is doing this for me only, but I *know* secretly, he wants to see it too!

PIzza for my 3 boys tonight and I am out of the house for a lovely evening of not being "mommy"..

Hubby snagged a couple to keep in his car

The seem to be a hit

Help with Preschool BTFE

I need new ideas about how to get parents interested & donating their Box Tops for Education for the Preschool!
I have been doing these for our preschool for 4 years. We never usually get more than $100 or so from the parents but lots from the adjoining church.
I also need to approach the new Director about having the $ split between our parents group & the school itself.

Loving the Mail

Lots of Samples & Freebies... Props to  It's All Free Online as I got my pink earplugs and love that I can sleep without hearing DH snore...
I took my sample shampoos & lotions with me on vacation recently and was so happy to have the extra space in the luggage.

The boys had a great time and the plane only gave peanut a hint of trouble..

Hubby & the boys at Watkins Glen NY Gorge.. We shuttle bused up & walked down.

Real Simple Thought for today

Remember, we all stumble, every one of us. That’s why it’s a comfort to go hand in hand.”

― Emily Kimbrough

This says so much about my life. I stumble constantly. Can I tell you, every time, he is (they/are) there for me..
My husband. and God.

My husband never ceases to be by my side even when i do stupid crap. 20 years together.. and he still loves me so much. That really says something these days.
