Update on My "Leap Out of the Box" Challenge

I have not updated in quite some time.
I have been slacking in my Gym attendance, but not my exercise.
I took a belly dancing class and realized my belly is much bigger that most of the women in there. I felt very self conscience being in there.
I think I like the 30 minute Belly Dancing show on Fit TV. No one see's me, but then again, I am not out of my box staying home.
My brother was home last week and I got him a pass to the YMCA and we went together. Of course, he was on weights and is quite buff, until me.

My scale still is not where I would like it to be, but again, my clothes like me a little more.

My 2 older boys love to play outside in the afternoons after school.

Yesterday, the decided to tell the whole world, or at least our street, just how they felt about me!

While the evening rain washed the chalk love away, I do have photo evidence ;)

"I love you Mommy" all over our street in front of our house.

I feel so special!

Marshall's/TJ Maxx Review

I went this morning to Marshalls in Oldsmar FL to check out some items for my family.

I searched for clothes for the boys, but they really didn't need anything. I looked at things for hubby, but he already takes over 75% of the closet. I looked at the Fall and Halloween items, but the boys would be unhappy if I shopped for trinkets with out them.
I guess it was time to look for something for me !

I tried on 3 tops and 3 skirts.. 2 skirts made me look like a hanging flower and the other I brought home.
The tops I liked, but the purple one was not as flattering on me as it was on the hanger and the Fuchsia one didn't seem right for going into the Fall Season.

So I brought home a grey shirt & a grey long sleeve top (that will look stunning with jeans).

I could have spent an hour in the shoes, but did not have that kind of time. The housewares were calling also!

Marshalls and TJ Maxx keep shoppers in with the latest trends and designers without the cost that you would find at department stores.

Did you know that buyers for the stores travel all around the world 40 weeks a year to meet with 12,000 different vendors, allowing them to snag the hottest in-season trends as they happen and negotiate prices up to 60% less than department stores. 10,000 new items arrive in every store each week, creating a “new store” feel every time shoppers visit.

I had no idea!

When you need to shop for your family, Check out your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls store. I bet they will have what you are looking for.

Disclosure: I received a gift card to purchase some of the latest trends from Marshalls and/or TJ Maxx. All items were chosen for myself or my family and all opinions are expressly my own.

I am in Temper Tantrum Land

I have been reading alot of blogs lately about Mom's with little ones who are having some Tantrum issues.
I officially am coming out today to join you.

Some days are better than others. Today seems to be the worst one yet.
Christopher will be 18 months on Saturday. He is the moodiest of my 3 boys.
Today, he is fine for a couple of minutes, then cry for a couple of minutes.
He is not in the mood for snack or beverage. He has already napped once.
He split my upper lip open this morning when the phone rang and scared him. The sippy he was holding, was thrown into my face and busted my lip. It hurts.. yep!

He stomps his feet, crossed his arms, throws toys. Then grabs his blanket and walks like Linus dragging his blanket behind him. (credit: Peanuts)

I allow him to have his tantrum then try to talk to him. He cannot verbalize yet but I can comfort him.

Right now he is face down on the tile floor with his head in his blanket giving intermittent cries. If I look at him, he gets mad.

I feel a pre-cursor to the Terrible Two's!

Tie-in Glitter - Hair Tinsel Review

I received and have tested out the Pro Hair Tinsel Hair Flairs.

I added the Sparkle Gold to my hair to give the brown a little shimmer and shine. I love how it looks up in a ponytail.

I cut the strands a little shorter than my natural hair to blend in better.

They were easy to install and stayed in during washing. I did the install for "short term" as I wanted to test them before I did the 2-6 week tie.

The Hair Flair website has a list of all the colors, instructions, and they ship to Canada!

Watch the Video to see how to tie in The Pro Hair Tinsel Hair Flairs!

This Product Was a Free Giveaway.
Disclosure: I received this product to review. All opinions expressed are solely my own. No monetary compensation was received for this review.

Our FUNtastic Weekend

Man, what a packed, fun filled weekend!

Our 1st evening was family filled.
We went to my IL's house, joined by my husband's older brother (his pregnant wife, and their 15 mo old daughter), my husband's younger Sister, in from NYC (where she is a designer, my baby brother, in from Iraq (unfortunately, he is on a plane as we speak to go back there) and our family of 5.
We had a FABULOUS dinner from Sonny's Bbq and just spent time together

Sonny's Bbq Dinner

My SIL Janelle, with her nephews and niece

Paul (my baby brother)  & I

Then on Saturday, after going chore crazy, we had our 3rd annual Back to School Bbq at our Pre-School.
Catered by Jimbo's in Tampa, We had a bouncy house, face painter, games, and had a pie throw. Each pie was $1 and benefited the school. Our Director had the idea and volunteered to have pies thrown at her as well as our only male teacher. Everyone was scared to throw pies at our Director. Not me! They overfilled a bowl and I made sure to get my $1's worth ;)
Yes, that's me smashing the Director in the face with a bowl of whipped cream!
Christi, after some of the 3 and 4 year old kids got done with her.

Some of the games we played

Our only male teacher, Ray, getting a pie in the face from his daughter!

The only other adult to get in on the fun, the 2's teacher Christine, got an employee discount, 2 for the price of 1!

Sunday, Hubby and I enjoyed some time out..
He had received 2 tickets to the Tampa Bay/Pittsburgh game for Sunday afternoon. A family friend came to watch the boys and we headed out to watch, what ended up to be a beat down.. Hubby is a Steelers fan so it was a good thing we sat in a Sea of Black and Gold..
A view from our seats. We had shade until the 2nd half

Hubby and I at the game.

We had a fabulous, tiring weekend! I am looking forward to not doing anything next weekend!

My Soldier's Visit

My little brother is a career military man. He joined the LA National Guard when he turned 18.
He had to witness the destruction Katrina caused to our home state, not only to the buildings, but the people. He was with the first group that had gotten to the Convention Center and at that moment, he wished he was back in Afghanistan. He has served in Operation Enduring Freedom, been to Afghanistan 2 times, and is currently in Iraq for a 2nd time.

Of all his deployments, he has never taken leave, he says it's to hard to go back after being home for two weeks. Too much of a teaser. But this time, it was mandatory. So my baby brother's home. He spent the 1st week in LA with our family (My mom's side, she passed away in 1992). We got him yesterday!

My boys were SO EXCITED to have Uncle Paul! Anthony (4) made him promise when he left in March that he would spent at least 1 night when he came home for leave.. and he did.

He played catch with them, read stories, played with their Star Wars figures, had dinner with us... It's so nice to have him within my reach.

It's going to say hard to say goodbye again. He'll fly back to LA on Saturday to make his preparations to leave back to Iraq early Monday morning. He's only be gone til mid December, but it will again feel like forever.

My heart will sink every time I see the MacDill exchange phone number come through or if I don't see him or FaceBook or Yahoo messenger for a couple of days.

He is my hero, my soldier. I am a very proud big sister!

Welch's Fruit Snacks Review

On Saturday I received a 4 pack sampler of Welch's Fruit Snacks to review.
Enclosed were 2 Mixed Fruit and 2 Tropical Fruit 0.9oz Fruit snack packs.

Welch's Fruit snacks are made with Real Fruit, have No Preservatives, and contain Natural and Artificial flavors. They are also a great source of Vitamin's C, A, and E.

We took the snacks with us on our drive down to Sarasota, knowing that the boys would need something to munch on.

4 out of 5 (me included) liked the Tropical Fruit. My 4 year old was not keen on them.
Everyone liked the Mixed Fruit.

I like that they fat free, Gluten free food, and are perfect for lunches.

We like them so much that I bought some while shopping today (and bonus that i had a coupon from the paper).

My boys love fresh snacks like fruit, cheeses and things, but sometimes I don't have any in the house or if we are on the go after school, this is an easy grab. It's also ideal for the pool.

If your little one's like fruit snacks, I would grab some to keep on hand.

Disclosure: The 4 individual packs of Welch's Fruit Snacks were provided to me for review purposes. All opinions are 100% mine.
No monetary compensation was provided.

I am following, are you?

We finally made it to Yoder's

We finally made the hour and a half drive down to Sarasota (FL) to Yoder's Amish Restaurant (featured on Travel Channel's Man vs. Food).

There was a line outside, which was about 15-20 minutes, then the line inside, another 10-15 minutes.
We took turns with CJ as waiting in line for a 17 month old is not easy.

Hubby went to the Yoder's Amish Market and got some beloved Birch Beer. He is so happy.

Our boys we awesome given the drive, the wait and all.

Hubby had their signature pressure cooked fried chicken, and I had their meatloaf.. HEAVEN!
Hubby also took another favorite with their Peanut Butter Pie and I opted for my most favorite Cherry Pie as no one likes it but me.

The boys opted for basic kid food; hamburger and corn dog, respectively

If you are in the Sarasota area for any reason, I would highly recommend Yoder's.

Here is a photo journey of dinner :)
