Jumbled Babies are in my house !!! Jumbies Review

Have you seen these cute little plush animals? The storks crashed and tumbled and the babies became jumbled. What cute creations came about from there!
Jumbies has created 12 jumbled babies who are soft and sweet.

We received Whackers the Mallit (Mallard Duck and Rabbit) and Corky the Pigbit (Pig and Rabbit), some Jumbieland Sand Dollars and mini comic books.

My boys loved the books and were happy to "adopt" their Jumbies.. I hid the sand dollars that let them to their own Jumbie...

You can visit JumbieLand  and see these amazing creations.. They make perfect Christmas gifts!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Adopted Ed - Book Review

I was very excited to receive this book to read to my boys. They are always curious about people families and why sometimes children don't look like their parents. I am not sure if any of their friends were adopted, but I have friends who are.

This is a great story. I love the illustration as did my boys. I wish all adoptive parents can be as supportive when questions are asked. I think the lessons that we learn about Eddie and how he feels can be translated into our everyday lives and may people related to the feelings Ed feels.

I plan on sending this book to a dear friend, who himself, is adopted. He has a young son of his own but I know that it's important to share these values. I hope that they can enjoy this book and share it as we have.

My 2 older boys (8 and 5 years), have asked lots of questions after reading this book and were fascinated to learn that so many people are adopted. I won't be surprised if my oldest begins asking his friends.

Adopted Ed is a fabulous book. It brings many emotions to the forefront and even if you nor your children are adopted, every parent should read this book to their child. Respect for each person is a beautiful thing and the compassion we show and share is passed along.

You can follow Adopted Ed via website, Twitter, or Facebook

About the Author: Darren Maddern:
Darren Maddern himself is adopted. While having loving and supportive adoptive parents, Darren did seek and find his biological family. He has close a close relations ship with both families.

You can check your local library or book store for this book. You can also purchase it on Amazon.com

Disclosure: I received this book via One2One Network. This content of this review is based upon my opinions. No monetary compensation was received.

The boys had been watching the mailbox for these Robot Crayons..

The package arrived on Friday and this morning/evening (Saturday).. Luke and Anthony did their video reviews.

Here are my boys using and talking about the Bee Bop Robot (crayons) by Gaddy Nipper Crayons!

Smell that Yummy Pretzel Smell... ahh it's an Auntie Annie's Review

My boys love Auntie Annie's pretzels. The malls tempts us all, every time we go.

We were lucky enough to receive an Auntie Annie's At Home Kit. My boys were so excited...
The kit contains the dough, yeast, baking soda, salt, and Cinnamon sugar. The instructions are detailed and perfect!

The entire process from start to finish takes about an hour. In there, is 30 minutes for the dough to rise, which is great for washing dishes and preparing the surfaces for the next step.

My boys were able to help with several steps. They did not want to mix and knead the dough.

I have not actually eaten the Cinnamon sugar pretzel at the store so I tried it at home.. WOW ! I have been missing alot. When the pretzels come out of the oven you brush them with melted butter and then sprinkle the Cinnamon Sugar mix. Man, I am getting one of those when I hit the mall again.

So all in all, we made Plain buttery pretzels, Salt Pretzels, and Cinnamon Sugar pretzels. I also made sticks.. Those were great for my 19 month old son and 17 month old niece.

They even reheated well in the microwave (10 seconds) as my boys had sticks when they returned home from Mini Golf with Dad..

She's a coming !

My SIL is due with her 2nd daughter in the beginning of December. She (the baby) is large so they had a c-section scheduled for Friday, however, today during a Dr.'s visit, they decided my SIL needed to have her new little one TONIGHT ! Apparently Gabby isn't moving and my SIL has lower fluid than last week,

My hubby is happy to have another niece (it's his Big Brother and his wife) as am I. My SIL had a very tough delivery with the 1st and now must endure surgery. I tried to calm her fears, as I've had 3 c-sections.
So we won't have a very pregnant woman at the table for Thanksgiving, heck, we won't have Momma nor baby.. But we will count our blessings to have a new addition in the family..

Printable Games for Christmas Review

I was able to have my Pre-School Parent group review some printable games from the Deluxe Christmas and New Years Game Collection

The collection includes Christmas Games, Christian Christmas, Winter Holiday Games, and New Years Games. These are great for any type of party, the classroom, get together's with family and friends.

You get the games and answer keys, no shipping involved! You can purchase this great And the best part is, you get the entire collection for one low price of $19.95!

We enjoyed the Christian Carols Challenge, Christmas Movie Characters, and the kids loved the Christmas Coloring Pages. I love that I will be able to also share these with more people during our upcoming Breakfast with St. Nick.

The parents thought the games were cleaver and fun. Not the same old games that we had done in the past, nor any they have played before.

My boys played Pin the Carrot on the Snowman, and loved it ! I laminated it and it's hanging in their room, so they can play it as often as they like. How Fun !

This is a really great collection for any age group!

Whitening My Smile - Rembrandt & Reach Review

With the holidays rapidly approaching, I have many parties, school functions, and family events taking place. My smile, tainted by my love of Tea, is not the whitest.

I was given the wonderful opportunity to test and review several products from Rembrandt and Reach.
I received:
Rembrandt
*Toothpaste
*Plus - Wintergreen Premium Whitening Fluoride with Peroxide
*Intense Stain - Whitening Mint with Fluoride (Removes Stains/Restores Enamel)
*Whitening Strips - Mint 5 day
*2 Hour Whitening Kit

Reach
*Toothbrushes
   *Total Care/Whitening
   *2 Pack New Designs
*Floss
*Total Care w/ Listerine (Fresh Mint)

My husband and I have been faithfully using these items. My husband had the opportunity to use both the Total Care/Whitening toothbrush and the New Design one as he had the stomach flu and I made him toss the Total Care toothbrush once he got better. My husband also used the Plus - Wintergreen Premium Whitening Fluoride with Peroxide toothpaste. I am not a peroxide in the mouth fan, but he is. I did try it one time and you definitely taste the peroxide. He says it had a very bad aftertaste. He said it did not have a nice clean feeling after he finish brushing with it. He liked both toothbrushes but if he had to choose, he would choose the Reach New Design.

I tried the Intense Stain - Whitening Mint with Fluoride (Removes Stains/Restores Enamel) with one of the Reach New Design toothbrushes. I absolutely love the toothpaste. I love how it makes my mouth feel and I think it does leave my mouth feeling clean. I have been using the floss, which I normally don't floss. The floss actually feels thicker (width wise) and I like the taste. It doesn't feel like string in my mouth, which I like.

I have also tried the 2 hour Whitening Kit. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it all in one shot. My gums got sore from the gel. You are supposed to put in the teeth guards with the gel for 20 minutes, then leave them our for 10 minutes. You repeat this 4 times. I got through the 1st two on the 1st day.
I did complete them on the 2nd day.

Before Whitening

After Whitening
The Reach by Design Collection  - A NEW limited-edition series curated by interior designers Tom Delavan, Celerie Kemble and celebrity stylist Brad Goreski

Available at grocery and drugstores nationwide, including Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and http://www.drugstore.com/
All in All, I have to say that we have been very pleased with the Rembrandt and Reach products we used.
I would recommend Both toothbrushes and absolutely the Intense Stain toothpaste as well as the Total Care w/ Listerine floss.. We love our healthy, clean smiles.

ugh, my van

So I've had this van for 6 weeks. We've put new tires, brakes and rotors, had a bearing compressed (cause hubby had to beat off one of the rusted old rotors). It got crappy gas mileage, so he bought me a K and N air filter. The check engine light started coming on at that time. Apparently, there is now a lean air mixture and we have to replace a PCV tube under the intake manifold.

There goes a new artificial tree for me this year.

Thoughts

As I sit here in the Mazda dealership, with no kids to entertain, I have time to think.

Thanksgiving is coming and we have so much to the Thankful for. My husband is employed in this time of uncertainty. My family is healthy. I get to continue to remain home, taking care of my kids. My brother will be home for Christmas.

I can plan (yeah, like my plans ever follow the right path), my week ahead. Think about gifts for my kids and ponder what in the heck I can possibly get hubby.

I think about my failed resolution to lose weight this year. While I did not gain, the scale is no lighter. The only thing to blame is me for this.

I think about my blog a lot. How I can better and grow it. What I am doing wrong and possibly right.

I wonder how crazy my kids are doing right now and if they are making their daddy nuts while I sit here.

Carmex Moisture Plus Giveaway and Review

I recently became a member of the Carmex Blog Squad and have been able to review not only their new Skin Care Line, but also, their Lip Care.

I was sent two different Moisture Plus products to try the sheer peach and pink tint.

I generally don't wear alot of lip balm, but with the weather being breezy lately, I popped the pink Moisture Plus  open and put some on. My lips felt smooth and sleek for hours. Probably because these products contain Vitamin E, Aloe, and SPF 15.

I have been using it for a couple of days now, which is so unlike me. Though the tints are light, I did get compliments on my lips (Mostly from the Teachers at the Pre-school the past 2 days, but hey, someone noticed).

These Carmex Moisture Plus tints make a great stocking stuffers. Remember, You can purchase these wonderful Carmex Products at Walgreens and Walgreens.com

Boiron Oscillococcinum and Chestal Giveaway

I had not tried Homeopathic medicines until now. We tried Oscillococcinum for the first time this week.
My boys were all laid out with all different types of bugs.. Tummy bugs, flu bugs..

My older boys took a couple of doses of the Children's Oscillococcinum and it really did shorted their sick time.

Oscillococcinum works best when taken at the first sign of flu-like symptoms such as feeling run down, headache, body aches, chills, and fever. Each dose is packaged individually in a compact plastic tube and is safe to administer to children 2 years of age and older.
*Active Ingredients: Anas Barbariae Hepatis Et Cordis Extractum 200 C HPUS (to reduce duration, severity of symptoms)
*Inactive Ingredients: Lactose, Sucrose

We have not yet tried the Children's Chestal Cough Syrup.

Chestal cough syrup's multi-cough formula temporarily relives coughs due to minor throat and bronchial irritation that occurs with a cold and helps loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive.
*Active Ingredients: Antimonium Tartaricum 6C HPUS (helps loosen thick mucus), Bryonia Alba 3C HPUS (relieves dry and painful cough), Coccus Cacti 3C HPUS (relieves cough w/ tickling in throat), Drosera Rotundifolia 3C HPUS (relieves barking cough worse at night), Ipecacuanha 3C HPUS (relieves cough associated w/ nausea), Pulsatilla 6C HPUS (relieves wet day cough, dry night cough), Rumex Crispus 6C HPUS (relieves dry cough triggered by cold air), Spongia Tosta 3C HPUS (relieves dry, croupy & barking cough), Sticta Pulmonaria 3C HPUS (relieves nighttime hacking cough)
*Inactive Ingredients: Citric Acid, Honey, Purified Water, Sodium Benzoate, Sucrose

Through an incredible opportunity with Moms Meet, I was provided full size products to share with my Pre-school moms and to host a giveaway with.

I am providing 3 Readers (yes, THREE)  with 1 each (6pk) Children's Oscillococcinum and 1 (4.2 fl oz bottle) Children's Chestal (ARV $19.00)

Have you seen Carmex's New Skin Care Line?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Carmex. All opinions are 100% mine.
Carmex has a wonderful Skin Care line.

The Carmex Healing Lotion and Carmex Healing Cream deliver a moisturizing and healing feeling without being greasy.

I absolutely love the healing cream on my elbows and feet. The lotion is great for my legs and arms. I was worried about feeling oily or greasy but I never did. My husband commented at how amazing my legs felt after I used the lotion on them and how he was taking my lotion for his arms.

The lotions do have the "classic" Carmex Scent, but it's actually quite soothing. The cream is a little thicker than the lotions but they both go on smoothly. I tried the cream on my little one's dry skin and not only did it help him, but I do believe the scent of the Carmex cream was pleasing to him.

Did you know you can only purchase the NEW Carmex Healing Lotion and Carmex Healing CreamONLY at Walgreens stores, walgreens.com and drugstore.com. The retail cost for each product is $5.99.

You cannot mistake the lotions for anything else. They are the Carmex Yellow! Definitely grabs your attention among the sea of blue, white, and green bottles.

You can also "Like" Carmex on Facebook.

During the few weeks I have been using the Carmex Healing Lotion and Carmex Healing Cream, I have seen and felt a difference in my skin.

Review of Bella Cupcake Couture

I love making muffins, cupcakes, cookies, etc...
Baking is relaxing to me, as long as I can feed all these goodies to someone else.

Today (11/17) is my Anthony's Birthday. Even though our entire house was ill, we pushed on and made cupcakes...
Our Finished Product

I decided to wrap Anthony and Luke's cupcakes in something special, since our day was just blah.. It made their dessert all that much better than an ordinary wrapper..

Bella Cupcake Couture offers a posh and chic textile-inspired cupcake wrappers. Why do I need cupcake wrappers?  Well, I don't but it makes my sweet treats all the prettier.

Bella Cupcake Couture was sweet enough to send me a package of the Dorothy- Polkadots as well as the Victoria- Celebrate/Crowns.

Each package contains 12 wraps which are printed with soy inks on recycled paper. Each wrap measures 3.25" wide and are just under 2" tall. These are $12.00

Bella Cupcake Couture also offers a version for mini cupcakes which measures 1.25" tall and contains 18 wrappers. The cost for this is $9.00.

All of the wrappers are proudly made in the USA.

The paper is very sturdy. I like the way the wrap around the cupcake. My cupcakes were smaller than the actual wrapper assembled is I just made them a little small (the wrapper not the cupcake). They are wonderfully nestled in their couture homes and are easily removed what time to eat the yummy baked good.

I absolutely wish I would have known about the Faith Cross Dove ones during CJ's baptism.. That would have rocked!!

I love that I still have 22 cupcake wrappers left and I will be baking some yummy muffins next month during one of our Pre-School events. I bet these wrappers are going to be a hit !

Disclosure: I received 2 packages of Bella Cupcake Couture wrappers for review purposes. All opinions are 100% mine. No monetary compensation was received for this review.

This is going to be a hard post to write.

I am taking part in the November 2010 Blog Challenge through Bloggy Moms.
I am supposed to write about a moment in life where you wish you hadn't said something or wish you had said something else....

Here is my post:

I wish I would have made it home for that last Christmas (91'). I wish I would have sent your Christmas gift. I still have the New Years card I never mailed. I write to you often, but you'll never get my letters.
Mom, I wish I would have said, Please choose us over him. Would you have listened? I wish I wouldn't have been 810 miles away. I wish that he would have called right when you went into the hospital instead of 30 minutes before you passed.
I wish I could stand over your small frame and wrap my arms around you and squeeze you. I wish you could see your grandsons. I wish you could see your son. I know you watch over us, sometimes I feel like you send me signs.
It's almost 19 years. It's more than half my life without you.

Mom, of all the wishes I wish for most..
I wish I could say I love you, to your face, just one last time.

For my Mommy.. Susan T Caronne July 13, 1948 - January 19, 1992 ~ RIP

Tie Buddy's Review

Anthony turns 5 today (YAY) and we've been practicing on tying the shoes.

We received a pack of Tie Buddies to help Anthony get the hang of the shoe thing. He seemed excited and interested. Once I got the Tie Buddies on his laces, then I had to figure out to to get them going and show my little man what to do.

The concept is there. The loops are hard, even my 8 year old hates tying his shoes. You can just loop the tie buddy around and it simplifies the step for you. With Anthony's shoes, either their laces are too long or I don't truly have them in a good spot because when I finish the loop, the aglet part is still stuck in the loop

Click here to see how the Tie Buddies work

Anthony refused to let me video him working on his shoes.
His preschool teachers had a ball with this product and once I showed them what they were, they were showing the other pre-schoolers how easy it was to tie their shoes.

I think that the more we practice, the better we'll get (as with anything). All in all, it's a good product.

You can buy these Online at the Tie Buddies Store for boys or girls for $8.99 plus Shipping and Handling

Southern Style Pecan Pie Recipe

Hi everyone, Jessica from Review Avenues here. I got the lovely chance to do a guest post here, so for this post I will be sharing the recipe for a Southern Style Pecan Pie. These pies are delicious, and with the southern hint, it will make it truely feel like Thanksgiving this year!

First you will need to gather these ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoons white sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup butter, chilled and diced

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 3 tablespoons ice water

  •

  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup light corn syrup

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoons milk

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Follow these directions to make sure you make it right:
    1. In a large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 3 tablespoons sugar and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix yolk with water and stir in until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight. Roll out and place in a 9 inch pie plate.
    2. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C.)
    3. Place pecans in the bottom of pie crust. In a large bowl, Stir together 3/4 cup of sugar and flour. Mix in the eggs, corn syrup, milk, melted butter and vanilla. Blend well and pour over pecans in crust.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until golden brown and filling is set.
It should end up looking something like this!

    Agro Lab Wheat Grass Review

I received a 3fl oz bottle of Wheat Grass Boost to review.

This Liquid Dietary Supplement says it's "Clean Green Energy". It contains B3, B6, and B12, Green Tea Extract, as well as several Fruit juices and purees.

Hubby and I tried it last night. It wasn't very pleasing. I turned a shade of light grey.

Now, I'm not saying that everyone will feel the same, as it is just my opinion...

    Here is my video review:

Disclosure: A 3fl oz bottle of Wheat Grass Boost was sent to me to review. All opinions are 100% mine. No monetary compensation was received.
