Skillet Bacon Jam Review

I reviewed this spread condiment called Bacon Jam.
They use niman ranch bacon and render it down along with onions, balsamic and other spices . It cooks for several hours until it is a perfect blend of smoky, tangy, savory and slightly sweet….spreadable bacon? Oh yeah ! And it's USDA approved.

You can use it on or in anything from eggs to grilled cheese, burgers, as a base for a vinaigrette, inside a scone or croissant, substitute it for bacon in a BLT, on baked brie, sautéed with seafood or veggies, roasted with beef, wilted in a spinach salad, on toast with a fried egg on top, or finish a potato soup

I tried it with some different of my usual dishes and while I like the bacon flavor, it was too salty for me (and the family)

  1. Sounds like an interesting product. I wonder if it has less fat in it than actual bacon? I would probably use this product added into a casserole, salad etc. rather than using it as a spread.
