Just a quick Mommy Brag

Luke started Karate (a satellite class) at our YMCA, in early March.
I think we may have missed 2 classes since we started.
Today, he was given the opportunity to test for his yellow belt.

And so he achieved his goal.
We are super proud...

Okay, bragging done :)

I love Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products, do you?

This is a compensated post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products are just as good as name brand products. I received the Cold Multi-Symptom Daytime (Non-Drowsy) and Nightime Combo Pack (Caplets).

120x30_WalgrensTransparentLogo

I have had the opportunity previously to use this product and completely love it! It works as good, if not better than the name brand medicine (for me). Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products cost considerably less than name brand products.

All Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products are Walgreens pharmacist recommended and all have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Most have the same active ingredients as the other national brands.

Medicine does not have to be expensive to work and Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products prove that. My entire family uses these products.

Something I did not know was that with every purchase of Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products supports bringing preventative wellness services to your local community through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.

Walgreens also will contribute up to $3 Million dollars (annually) to the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.

You want to learn more about the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ and find out how they provide free preventative health tests, wellness services and education to local communities.

If you ever have questions about Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products, you can contact your local Walgreens pharmacist or online at Walgreens.com/pharmacychat

I love this new Covergirl Foundation!

How does it look? Can you see it?

I'm wearing Covergirl natureluxe liquid silk foundation #320! It's so smooth and lightweight.
The natureluxe liquid foundation has a SPF10  sunscreen built in and really is just so easy to apply.
I absolutely love Covergirl products in general, but now, I've found a new foundation. I usually don't wear it because it feels so heavy on my skin but this doesn't.

I also paired my new foundation up with Covergirl Lip Perfection #320 (soulmate)

It seems 320 is my covergirl number !

Now, my new foundation also came with a fabulous lip balm, but a showed it to a wonderful friend and it looked so awesome on her, I let her keep it. She has worn it several times since and says that it makes her lips smooth. It's moisturizes and even tastes good, unlike some other products she has tried.

**I forgot to say I wrote this as a part of my BuzzAgent Review...

A hard time in school, it's only going to get tougher.

I am going to preface this post by saying, I was an average student. A 2. something gpa when I graduated. Not an acceptional student by any means.

But school is different now. The college courses you can take in high school are amazing, the opportunities presented if you can get them can send you a long way in life via scholarships, colleges, and life experiences.

My 8 year old is a good kid. He is a fantastic writer, he loves to create stories. He illustrates them and does comic strips. Social Studies and Science hold his attention and he can memorize almost anything. But sit this boy down with some math and I can see me sitting there... ugh!

I had a math tutor for Algebra in 10th & 11th grade. I just could not master this class. My mom took me once a week to this ladie's house and I'd sit there for an hour while she explained x=y+2 whatever to me.. It was like a forgein language I could not master.

I am wondering how early it too early for math tutoring? I mean, I want Luke to succeed and I know he is not going to like every subject ever, but when do I worry? He'll begin getting those "real grades" next year (A-F) and then here in Florida, we have FCAT's to worry about starting in 3rd grade (yep, next year).

I hate the whole, labeling thing, it drives me batty. I don't want him labeled in any way for his math inabilities or focusing skills.

What are your thoughts.. It's not so hard right now, but he dislikes math so much, so when do you get them help?

Check out the Family Wind Chime I purchased

I found the Family Wind Chimes at Laurel Arts so awesome, I purchased one for my MIL as a Mother's Day gift. My MIL has everything so to find something unique that represents all her children and grandchildren, will make her so happy.

The chimes consists of all our names (MIL, FIL, their 3 children, 2 spouses, & 5 grandchildren), plus the family name at the bottom. I love that there are accent leaves and acorns at the top of some of the strands.

I was pleasantly surprised at how light the piece was. The color is fabulous and it is just an all around wonderful item.

Laurel Arts has many designs of chimes and all are beautiful. I love the personalization. That really just makes the gift unique.

Visit Laurel Arts Etsy store by clicking on the button below:

Lauren Arts was a Blogmania Sponsor for the April 2011 Blogmania Event and will be back for the October 2011 Blogmania Event as well!

**This item was not a review item but an item I purchased solely as a gift. The review is completely my own opinion.

My Comfort Cross {Review and Giveaway}

I received this beautiful cross and have used it during this Lenten Season. It is an amazing addition to keep with me during church or even when I am alone in reflection. The Olivewood Cross is beautiful, smooth, and fits perfectly in my hand. The grains of the wood add to the magnificent piece.

Our church has an elderly following and so many Grandmothers have commented on how much they would love to give these to their Grandchildren to help them along in their faith. I am considering one for my son for his 1st Communion this summer.

Good news about Comfort Crosses:

•All Comfort Crosses are imported directly from the Holy Land.
•Craftsman are paid a fair price
•Craftsman are Christian and money helps the Christian Community.
•Designed specifically to fit perfectly into your hand.
•Ideal gifts.

The Olivewood Cross

Comfort Crosses are individually carved from a single unique piece of beautifully grained olive wood pruned from the olive trees around Bethlehem the birthplace of Jesus. Christians have been carving crosses like this for hundreds of years, originally for pilgrims and more recently tourists visiting the Holy Land. Each craftsman receives a fair price to support their family and Christian community. The Comfort Cross is designed to fit comfortably into the palm of your hand as an aid to prayer or meditation. Ideal as your spiritual companion for easing children's fears, comforting worries and stresses of adults and focusing the prayer of the sick and elderly.

If you would like to buy a Cross,  You can purchase 2 crosses with cards and bag and postage within the US for $12, a $2 discount.  Go to the Comfort Cross Website

I have been blessed to be able to provide 2 crosses with cards and bag to 2 lucky readers..

This past week (Mon-Wed) was crazy at the pre-school.. Each day was a celebration of Holy Week..
I've been trying to Easter stuff done without having children nipping at my heels.

Now, Only 1 child in school for the next week.. Doesn't mean I won't be busy.

Prefense Hand Sanitizer {Review and Giveaway}

I love this stuff. We took it with us to Chuck E. Cheese this weekend for 2 birthday parties we were invited to and it was a huge hit with all the parents there.
There were some of the same parents there on the 2nd day and they asked me if I had brought it with me so they and their kids could use it again.

The parents like the fact that it lasts 24 hours and more than 10 hand washes.

I used it as well and when we ate, it did not make my food taste funny, my kids never noticed it afterward and I felt better knowing they were protected.

Have you filed your tax returns yet?

Some people have not yet filed their Tax Returns. Man, we had ours in as soon as we could.
I dislike paper work so much. Filling out forms just seems so tedious to me.
For the past several years we have used Turbo Tax to do our tax returns. It's easy for me (since I am the one who files it). I like that it walks me through all the steps and helps me to maximize my deduction.
I've had occasions where I needed to find an answer to a question I had, and thankfully, Turbo Tax had the answers for me in the Q&A section.

I have never had to file an extension, but some people do. Did you know you can file a tax return extension right through Turbo Tax? I had no idea. I stumbled across the topic the other day.

Have you filed your tax return yet? What are your plans for your refund (if you get one)?
We always pay our property taxes and home insurance with part of it. We also do 1 nice family vacation. The rest, we save for home improvements or emergencies.

We are lucky to have received some decent refunds in the years past and we've needed to dip into into that savings. I'm so glad we've had it there.

Arthur Celebrates Earth Day with 5 New Episodes Beginning Friday, April 22, 2011 on PBS KIDS GO!

Features a Special Visit from NASA Astronaut
Mike Finke, Thursday, April 28, 2011

BOSTON, MA (April 11, 2011) - PBS KIDS GO!'s iconic kids series ARTHUR continues its 14th season with five brand-new episodes highlighting environmental protection, cultural awareness, and teamwork beginning on Earth Day, Friday April 22, 2011, and continuing through Thursday April 28, 2011 (check local listings). The fun starts with a special Earth Day message from Arthur and his friends in Buster Baxter and the Letter from the Sea. In this episode, Buster discovers a message in a bottle on the beach while on vacation with the Read family. Could it be an urgent message from the people of the Lost City of Atlantis? Buster is determined to find out and sends messages back...by throwing his own bottles into the ocean. Join Buster and Arthur as they learn that keeping our beaches and waterways clean is the real message.

Online, kids are invited to take the Go Green Challenge (http://pbskids.org/arthur/thetreehouse/gogreen/index.html) on the ARTHUR website. In this special section, kids can join their favorite ARTHUR characters in support of a green cause. Whether it's making better food choices with Buster, or saving energy with D.W., kids have opportunities to take simple green steps that can help save the environment. Also, kids will be able to print out a "Challenge Page" to keep track of their green actions.

"This Earth Day, we wanted to show kids how simple actions can affect the environment," says Senior Executive Producer Carol Greenwald. "Through this episode and the Go Green Challenge, kids can learn simple steps that they can take to help protect the world around them."

Throughout the week of new episodes, Arthur and friends will follow a soccer ball as it makes its way around the world. In Follow the Bouncing Ball, airing Friday, April 22, 2011, Alberto Molina's beloved soccer ball, signed by his favorite Ecuadorian soccer star, "El Boomerang," is lost. Kids are invited to join Arthur in learning about new cultures and track all the places "El Boomerang" goes as it travels around the world (and into outer space!).

In a special episode airing Thursday, April 28, 2011, kids learn that teamwork can help their dreams soar when NASA Astronaut Mike Finke guest-stars on ARTHUR in Buster Spaces Out. Inspired by footage of the moon landing, Buster wants to go to outer space. Well, someday. For now, it would be really cool to build and launch a rocket. So Buster enlists his friends to help...but they can't agree on anything and the mission stalls. Luckily, their new friend Astronaut Mike teaches them that only teamwork will accomplish this mission--and then it's blast-off!

Tune in for these adventures and more as your favorite ARTHUR characters travel the globe in Around the World in 11 Minutes, start competing blogs in Muffy and the Big Bad Blog, try their hand at fashion design in All the Rage, cope with teasing in D.W., Queen of the Comeback, explore Africa in In My Africa, and discover knitting in Arthur Unravels. The full schedule of airdates is below (check local listings):
Friday, April 22, 2011 - Follow the Bouncing Ball, Buster Baxter and the Letter from the Sea
Monday, April 25, 2011 - Around the World in 11 Minutes, Muffy and the Big Bad Blog
Tuesday, April 26, 2011 - Arthur Unravels, All the Rage
Wednesday, April 27, 2011 - D.W., Queen of the Comeback, In My Africa
Thursday, April 28, 2011 - Buster Spaces Out, The Long Road Home

ARTHUR Online at PBSKIDSGO.org/arthur
The award-winning ARTHUR website is home to many games and activities, including the new game "Buster Baxter, Lung Defender." In this game, kids fight common asthma triggers in a wild ride through Buster's lungs. Supporting material for parents and caregivers can be found in the new Kids & Asthma section on the Parents & Teachers site. Also new this season, Arthur and his friends team up with Martha from Martha Speaks in a new game called "Marthur Stickerbook Mashup." Kids can choose characters and props from each show to create unique mashup scenes. Finally, in a comic-creator feature inspired by Neil Gaiman, who guest-starred on ARTHUR last fall in Tales of the Grotesquely Grim Bunny, kids can create their very own comics, featuring Arthur and his Elwood City friends. The ARTHUR website is also home to most of the series educational materials including resources, lesson plans, and activities and has features to help kids understand their neighbors, near and far, and gain a better appreciation for the world around them. Kids can also watch video clips and full episodes of ARTHUR at PBSKIDSGO.org/video.

Press ReleaseBoston, MA, and Universal City, CA (April 12, 2011) – CURIOUS GEORGE continues its 5th season with a brand new Mother’s Day episode celebrating Hispanic heritage and Latina moms. Premiering Friday, May 6, 2011 (check local listings) on PBS KIDS, “Mother's Day Surprise features George helping Marco surprise his Mami with a party. Together, they make a piñata and other festive decorations while Marco's sister and the Man with the Yellow Hat prepare some of the guest of honors favorite foods. Learn about Hispanic culture and help George and Marco celebrate El Día de la Madre in this special episode of CURIOUS GEORGE.

This Mother's Day, we'll continue Season 5's exploration of the social sciences by showing kids how Marco and his family celebrate El Dia de la Madre, says WGBH Executive Producer Dorothea Gillim. After a day of checking the acoustics at different locations around town, their last hope is the museum. Will it have a room that is quiet, won’t produce echoes, and is large enough for an entire band? Then in George's Home Run, airing Thursday, May 5, 2011, Marco tries to hit his first Little League home run while George plays scorekeeper. Marco helps George learn how to count from 1 to 10, and George returns the favor by agreeing to be a pinch runner for an injured Marco.
