Bicyle Keychain Bottle Opener review

I received this great keychain recently that doubles as a bottle opener.
You would never really thing this cool keychain is really a bicycle bottle opener keychain

The keychain I received is actually a cool slate/pewter color. It measures approximately 2.25 x 1.375 x 0.25 inches

Keychains are a necessity and why not have one that's functional as well.
My keychains has been hijacked by my son who loves bicycling. He put his key for his bicycle lock on it. He doesn't need to know, nor does he realize there is another use for it and I'm not telling him..

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My Son is very much into his "style" ... already

Let me preface this post by saying that Luke (8) gets his need to dress nice & "primp" from his dad.
Dad gets to dress nice and gel his hair & according to Luke, "look cool" everyday when he goes to work.

Last year, it was a struggle to get him in one thing while getting him ready for school. He felt the need to try on 2 or 3 shirts that would go with the right jeans or pants. He very much has his own sense of style.

He likes his jeans long and his shirts long and his socks "no show".. Apparently socks that show outside of your shoes just won't cut it.. This year he has asked for his own gel so that he can gel his hair and would like some new belts to go with his jeans and shorts. I certainly don't remember 3rd grade, really caring much what I wore to school.

Luke does not fall into any real "clique" in school yet. There are no jocks, or nerds, or skateboarder kind of kids that I have seen. I am sure that will change. But he does have his own dress personality.
His style is fading from "Character" t-shirts like Mario or Star Wars to more of a design, cool, hip kind of shirt. I can see him trying the skateboard style soon as he loves his dad's weekend attire.

Luke definitely likes to look good. He layers his clothes sometimes and really puts alot of thought into it. He even has multiple school bags, from a traditional backpack, to a messenger bag, to am over the shoulder kind of sling backpack. It just decides on his mood for the day. Seriously?!

I shutter to think what 3rd grade will bring. I know that when he returns, he will have one new accessory he is proud of. He has always wanted a chain (necklace). He has commented about the boys that have this or that and how he wants one as they are really "the cool kids" in his eyes. Well, he has a new Sterling Silver necklace (and crucifix) which he received for his 1st Communion.

I know he is anxious to get back to school. He is anxious to show off new things, meet new friends and see old ones. He has already made his back to school shopping list with things (I know) he isn't getting but I'll let him dream for now.

My son is very thoughtful in his style. He truly takes his time whether it's school, church, or like this morning, going to buy a new fridge. Yes, He wore "cool" jeans, with a "cool" belt, and a "cool" long sleeve shirt, which I made him change out of being that it was 84 degrees at 8a.

I am a get up & go kind of person. I don't really put much thought into what I am wearing unless it's a special occasion. This is all dad's fault really.

But I am glad he takes pride in his appearance. I am glad that I can go somewhere with him and know he is probably going to look nicer than me because he really put thought into it.

Yummy Pumpkin Goodies

Pumpkin is usually a Fall thing for people. Not for my family.. My boys (hubby included) could eat Pumpkin pie/muffins/bread everyday. For a special treat, sometimes I hollow out the middle and add a cream cheese frosting,, It's Oh-So-Decadent.

I have always used this recipe from TV Food Network and just modified the cooking times to fit my oven and muffins or mini loaves. I have never altered the ingredients and it's just the best tasting (at least in my opinion).

My Anthony (5) has been asking me to make muffins for over a week and finally, I gathered all the ingredients, found the time and made them...

Where O Where has my Sunshine gone?

Here in Central Florida, we have our share of sunshine. As I sit here in my minivan waiting for 4p so I can grab my boys from their last day of camp, there are nothing but grey skies before me. We've already had a tremendous rain shower today and I think there may be more to come.

I should be thankful I am not baking in the parking lot today

Mr. Clean

Today was a nice quiet stay at home day for CJ (2) and I. We played, read, watched videos and played Plants Vs Zombies on the itouch. Luke & Anthony have camp all this week (9-4) so no big brothers during the day.

While doing some facebook work, I hear his little vacuum going.
He has decided to clean up around the boys little table where they eat breakfast and snack.

He dust-busted the crumbs from the table and then pulled the chairs out and vacuumed underneath.

Yes, the vacuum does really work.. so we've emptied the crumbs out.. I love when they help without being asked too...

Minus the tantrums, I love this age !

Please press the *Like* Button

My 8 year old has been learning about giving back to the community recently and it has sparked his interest and he has decided he would like to help as well. We are constantly talking about how lucky we are to have a stable income, food, a home, the ability to do things many cannot.

We've (together) decided to help out local food banks in our area, to begin with.

For every 5 likes, Luke will purchase a can of food with his own money. Every community has needs and we are going to do our best to begin to help ours. This does not cost you anything, just pressing the *Like* button will help..

If you'd like to donate, please contact me and I'll be happy to set up a Paypal donation link for him.

Seventh Generation Free & Clear diapers and MyBlogSpark

I am trying to minimize my *footprint* on the environment and so I joined the MyBlogSpark Seventh Generation Free & Clear diapers Review Program.

Seventh Generation has reduced the size of the diapers’ plastic packaging, meaning that each pack now contributes even less overall landfill waste than before. That's super important given the amount of diapers that are probably in landfills.

I've used them on CJ for a day now and I really like them. They hold up well and don't have any clumps when soiled.

You can visit to download a printable coupon for $2.00 OFF any ONE Seventh Generation Baby Product (Diapers, Training Pants, or Wipes)!

Making your "On The Go" day a little easier

Let's face it, we are all on the go. We are running errands, driving kids from here to there and of course, work.

I would like to provide you with 10 simple tips to make your "On The Go" day easier. At least in my eyes.

  1. Plan your day: It's easier said than done because that last minute errand always pops up, but try your best to plan your day before heading out. It will save time, gas, and hopefully frustration.
  2. Pack a Snack: Instead of hitting the drive thru for a quick -pick me up-, pack a healthy snack, something portable to grab and munch on while sitting in traffic or waiting for the kids to finish up at camp or during a sports practice.
  3. Multitask while waiting: Another thing you can do while you are waiting for your kids or for an appt is to get other things done. Do you need to schedule a physical or make that much needed massage appointment. Why not get these things while you are idle.
  4. Stay hydrated: Keep a bottle of water with you. If you are like me, and don't really like just plain water, keep a packet of flavor lemonade in your car. If you really need a boost, bring along a can of iced latte from Seattle's Best with you.
  5. Stay Safe: You may expect me to say don't text and drive and keep phone conversations to a minimum and while those are important, there is also another thing to keep you safe. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Under or over inflated tires can wreak havoc on a planned day with a blow-out.
  6. Take care of the little ones: When packing snacks and drinks for you, make sure your precious cargo has some healthy munchies too. Shopping trips will be easier if little tummies are not grumbling.
  7. Stick to your list: Especially if you are on a tight time schedule, sticking to your list is important. it could be your shopping list or a To Do list. Deviating from the list can add time and make your day stressful if you become rushed.
  8. Make dinner easy: If your "On The Go" plans keep you out all day, make sure you have dinner in mind, ahead of time. Crock pots are a huge time savor and can alleviate dinner pressures.
  9. Stick Together: When out and about, try to keep your errands in order. You'll waste time, gas, and nerves if you are going back and forth with no clear direction to your day.
  10. Don't Stress: Keep your cool, literally and figuratively. If you allow the day to take advantage of you, not only will it make your errands seem longer and more tedious but it could result in something much worse if you are stressed and distracted while driving. Do your best to take things in stride and make your "On The Go" day, as good as it can be.
Some of the tips above may seem automatic. Things you do everyday. Being prepared is a fabulous gift some people have naturally, but not me. It takes thought and memory for my days to go smooth.

I hope some of the tips have helped you !!

RAOK from Strangers

I went to the Goodwill store in Oldsmar to find Luke a chair for his desk because really, $50 for an 8yo's chair isn't happening. We found a chair (awesome) for $10 and another chair (kind of futon like but not really) for $8.99. I had my 3 kids and my neighbors 3 kids with me and we are up at the register.

The lady in front of me is talking down a price on the a bookshelf and is just astounded at how good the kids are being (except cj who is trying to pick up glass lawn ornaments) and buys Luke's desk chair for him saying she can see in his eyes how good of a child he is. As I am packing everything up in the van, she tells me that I must buy them Ice Cream and gives Luke $20 and drives off. All 6 kids got McDonald's for lunch.

The 11yo and 2 8yo's are just beside themselves in awe at how nice the lady was so I told them we need pay her kindness forward.

It's nice to see Random Acts of Kindness from Others as so many times we see the rage. Luke now wants to do something to pay it forward so we will be on a mission to do so :)

So I haven't posted really in a while, just some giveaways and reviews here and there.
Vacation really took it out of me.

The day after we arrived back home, I decided to do away with the crib and send the 2 year old to a "big boy bed". He is now in the bottom bunk and my 5 year old is in the top bunk.. My 8 year old is now proud tenant of his own room & he thinks he is Top Dog!

The 1st night was not too bad but the 2nd night sucked (sorry, it really did). I am prepared for another crappy night of sleep. It had to be done though so that in 41 days [yes i am counting] when school begins, he is comfortable in his space and not waking up the boys with his crying and constant up &  down.

Vacation was awesome except again, for sleep.
The beds were horrid and of course, I slept with a handsome but difficult 2 year old instead of my hubby.

I love going to visit Upstate NY where my hubby is from, and so do my kids, but I think we will stay local next year. I would like to have a potty trained, sleeps by himself child, like his brothers so I can enjoy things more. It sounds selfish, but really.. When Mommy is happy.. everyone else's life is easier.

My boys & Hubby enjoying Tanglewood Nature Preserve

CJ & I waiting for the boys & hubby while they are canoeing on the lake at Park Station

I am happy to be home and have some wonderful things planned.

Three Cups book review

I received this book to review and found the story easy to read and very heartfelt. I read it alone the first time, with my husband the second and had my 8 year old read it to me the 3rd time.
I think the message is very well portrayed. It's a message we need more of nowadays and I would love to share this book with every parent I know!

My children need the patience and lessons to help them and with instant gratification all around us, this very basic lesson should be forefront. I love this book!

Three Cups a Children's book for children 4-12 years old that teaches them about money in a very loving and simple way. With a savings cup, a spending cup and a charity cup children are inspired to save money for their future, spend responsibly and challenged to give back to their communities. A book that is loved by both children and their parents and grandparents!

You can check out the website Three Cups and order the book right there on the site for only $10.00

Do you need invitations for a party? Check out

I like to have birthday parties planned in advanced, especially my boys birthday parties.

My 2 older boys were born in November. 3 years and 10 days apart respectively.
They have always shared parties. Luke invites his friends and Anthony invites his friends. We have age appropriate things for everyone.

Both the boys agree they want a "Minute to Win It" party this year.. We are planning now.

I was lucky enough to have been able to review great invitations from Amy Adele. Amy Adele has large selection of invitations for every occasion. I love that they are printed on 100% post consumer recycled paper.

Since I wasn't getting each boy his own invitation for the party, I decided to go with the Happy Green Dots Border Party Invitations so that it was universal. The customization was super easy and I like being able to preview the invitation as I went through everything.

If you are looking for kids birthday invites as well as other fabulous items, please head on over to Amy Adele.
