Is your family in good hands?

Today is so uncertain. Not that everyday isn't, but the financial markets are swaying too far in one direction or another.

I made the mistake of cashing out my 401K in 2002 when I became a SAHM to my first son. I should have rolled that money into a nice nest egg account.

My husband has a fabulous 401K with an employer who matches up to a certain percent, so he takes advantage of his employers generosity.

Many people are dipping into their savings to live everyday, pay bills, or just to even survive and eat. What we don't realize is that in 5 years we will have nothing at all if we keep up this pace.

What do you to protect your financial nest egg? Have you changed your 401K to ensure more safety in the market? Do you take greater chances hoping for a big payout?

What about college? My amazing In-Laws gave each of their kid’s part of their disbursements early. My husband received a nice chunk of cash. We made some payments on bills, but at the time, we only had 1 child, so we chose to put the majority of the money in a college fund.

Right now, one of my son's can go to a college and have it be paid (at least here in Florida).

What do you have in savings? Can you cover your bills for 1 month if needed? What about 6 months? I know we can't. We are trying to build up that savings a little at a time. It's difficult, but worth it in the event of an emergency.

What about life insurance? What would you or your spouse do if the other were seriously injured or worse? Would the insurance from his or her job cover any "real" expenses? Not really.

If something were to happen to my husband, or his job, our lives would be tested. We are not as prepared as we could or should be!

Did you know that more than half of the American population is under-insured, if at all? That fact is really overwhelming! More than half of the people in the United States, including my family, would be in dire straits if something happened to the breadwinner of my home, which is my husband.

Allstate helps protect so many things we don't think about, or don't want to think about. Life Insurance, Home Insurance and retirement have been a part of Allstate for over 50 years.

First Week Down!

The first week of school is over for us! Anthony L♥ves Kindergarten and Luke is adjusting well to 3rd grade.

Cj had is 1st Kids Morning out of the school year and was so excited to go and play with friends.. Sometimes I'm sad I didn't put him in a 2's class, but I think financially, it will be better. He and I are going to plan some great field trips together this year :D

The pool in the backyard came down and is packed up. I knew that if I left it up, it would get nasty!

Tonight, Luke and his dad and Uncle are going to a Wrestling Match.. The local Florida style fake WWE kind.. Luke thinks John Cena or Triple H are going to be there, but I am trying to convince him they are not. Regardless, he will have a good time...

I am ready to get geared up for all the School year / Cub Scout Year has to offer !!!

Do you need one? A Back-To-School Survival Kit (review and giveaway)

With school, comes new things. New teachers, new friends, new activities, and yes, new bumps, bruises, and scrapes.

The fine folks at Tec Labs are allowing me (and some other bloggers) to promote their products designed to help prevent skin infections in minor cuts and wounds, itching and head lice.

When you thin head lice, (as my hubby did), his face turned ghost white and couldn't even speak.
But the  Licefreee Everyday Shampoo helps to prevent head lice.
Now I know you probably aren't going to use this product daily and I know my kids haven't. But they did use it over the summer especially with Summer Camp activities. We will use it twice a month now that school is in session. We are being pro-active for that "just in case" moment.

Another product I received was the StaphAseptic® First Aid Antiseptic/Pain Reliever, to treat minor cuts and wounds. Anyone who read my blog last year, knows I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. It heals, cleans, protects, and definitely makes "boo-boo's" a whole lot easier to deal with. When the boys have had friends over and they have received scrapes, I use this and when I let their parents know what I have used, they are very much interested in learning more. I have used the StaphAseptic on my cuts as well as on my hubby. i can't even say enough about this product!

The Calagel® Medicated Anti-Inch Gel - to relieve and protect skin from minor cuts and burns, and other skin irritations such as poison ivy, oak and sumac rash has been a lifesaver for my poor Anthony. He is a super itchy boy. Just his skin make up I guess. This gel has been a lifesaver with sunburns and bug bites. Plenty of those two items here in Central Florida!

Want to win a Back To School Survival kit of your own?

We'll go with an easy entry for this one!

All you have to do is tell me which of these products you would use the most (and why of course)
Leave a comment below ▼ in the comment box
Make sure you leave an email address so I can contact you if you are the winner!
One entry per email address please ☺

After wrap #2 - the results are in

So after my last post, I decided to do wrap #2 a little early since
my 39 hours results did not change to the next day.

Just to recap, Here is my 1st set of pics:

After my 2nd wrap, here are the results:

I am still not done. I have 2 more wraps in my box. I am debating on when to do them.

Our weekend was crazy as it was the last weekend before summer.. Today, the first day of school!

Tomorrow begins anew; after taking the boys to school, Cj and I will be returning to the YMCA for our daily workout. I had taken a summer break and now, with some inches lost, I plan on helping it along with exercise.

I finally shared my pictures and things with hubby, since he hadn't noticed it already..
I was so happy to show him the inches I lost..
He was happy, I think..His reaction was not what I had hoped it would be.. oh well..

While I wish I had dramatic results, I can still tell you that I have lost.. inches..

Cell Phone Plans are expensive, Tracfone is not!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TracFone for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My best friend got a new cell phone the other day. She loves it! I didn't ask what she paid... I'm sure it wasn't pretty.

That got me thinking about our cell phone that is due to be renewed soon. We pay as much for 2 cell phones (shared minutes, unlimited web, 500 text, free text to same company users) as we do for our Phone, internet, and cable combo!

Tracfone has been on my brain for a while. It costs very little to stay in touch. The Tracfone's T301 has so many features and could be a good fit !

My 8 year old will now be escorting his brother to school (after I get over the initial shock of having 2 kids in Elementary School, and I am considering a low cost phone for for him.

Do you need an inexpensive way to keep in touch with everyone? TracFone is here to help!

TracFone offers the least expensive way to own and use a cell phone in America and is one of the few I have seen  with no contracts, no credit checks, no activation charges or cancellation fees.

Check out some real TracFone customers.

• Tracfone has great nationwide coverage and excellent reception/connectivity. You can also choose from brand name phones Motorola, LG, and Samsung. Choose from simple phones, to Bluetooth®-enabled "Smart" phones.

My concern about a phone for my 8 (almost 9 year old) is the monthly plans. Do I get him one or just pay as we go?

Pay as you go online or with cards with Tracfone is available at thousands of retail stores. I could also purchase a 1 year service cards and receive double minutes for the life of your TracFone, and 800 minutes, for only $119.00

The “Double minutes for the life of your phone” is a feature that can be purchased separately for only$19.99, but some phones include it! Not sure Luke needs that! I can also choose monthly plans with 200 minutes for under $30.00, and as low as $9.99 for 50 minutes. That's more my speed!

Though we will never need it for Luke; the International Long Distance plans are great too!
Tracfone is the only wireless service where you can call internationally, for the same price as any other call. You can ever call over 60 international destinations directly from your TracFone at no extra cost!

The phone selection is great! Simple phones for simple needs, calling and texting capabilities for under $10.00. YES, I said $10.00! I found 3 very easy and basic phones for $9.99 on the Tracfone website plus more under $20.00

They offer phones packed with features like camera/video recorder, web access, app capabilities, mp3 player, and full QWERTY keyboard, for $29.99. Luke doesn't need that, but we may!

See what real TracFone customers are saying about Tracfone and their experiences.

I had the opportunity to smell it and then it was ripped from my hands and claimed by my 8 year old...

YMX Flower Clouds Sun Tee Review and Giveaway

I really like this shirt. My friend Karina says it makes me look slimmer. But it's really tight since I am, uh um.. quite busty...
I allowed my awesome MIL review this shirt. She LOVES it !!! She wears it to workout all the time (she & FIL are very active). She loves it for bike riding as she said it protects her from the elements and even when caught in the rain, it didn't weigh her down.
Here is a little about the YMX shirt:
This long sleeve shirt brings together some of YMX's most popular tribal and Asian artwork into fresh colors for Spring. Wear this super-comfortable shirt as a performance base layer or as a fashion piece.

Made with MadKool technology, SPF 50+, moisture wicking.

EvoraPet by Oragenics Review and Giveaway

Oragenics is pleased to announce EvoraPet, the new name for its best-sellingTeddy’s Pride Oral Care product for pets.
It’s still an all-natural, easy-to-use probiotic!  EvoraPet is an odorless and flavorless powder that can simply be sprinkled onto Barky’s(or Meowy’s) food.  The outcome is fresher breath, a cleaner mouth and whiter teeth.  They may not always welcome kisses from mommy or daddy, but when you steal one you won’t cringe in horror.

Jackie was a little hesitant at first, with this on her food, but then knowing that I wasn't giving her new food, she ate it. I did notice a difference in her breath, as did the boys, who constantly tell me "Mom, Jackie's breath Stinks!".
We have used the product regularly and it really does work. Jackie's breath is much better.
I can say that after almost a month of regular use, the product delivers and has not caused any adverse reactions in our 11 year old Jack Russell.. Luke says she even "smiles more".. Gotta love the 8 year old logic there !

Check out and click on the ‘store’ tab to learn more.
With the code EPET811, your readers can receive $5 off at check-out. The coupon is good until August 31, 2011 (Sorry, US Only)

Winner Announced!

Another giveaway has ended and today's winner for the

#19 Desiree Ricks

(an email has been sent and winner has 48 hours to confirm)

39 Hour update - yep, i added pics..

So after yesterday's pity part on myself and feeling discouraged, I made a pact with myself once I headed to bed. If I saw No Change this morning, I was going to wrap again.
I spoke to the rep at It's About You! (whom I purchased the product from) and realized I did not take a HOT shower before hand so it didn't open up the pores. So maybe I didn't get the full effect.

This morning, knowing full well, there would be No Change in my body, I got dressed, grabbed the measuring tape & camera and headed to the bathroom to feel down..

Even just looking in the mirror this morning, I knew something was different. My pouch (saggy c-section flappy thing) seemed shorter. The scale went down a pound, the measuring tape didn't have to stretch as far.

I actually cracked a smile...
Now, this is not HUGE and while I still have the urge and itch to take a mulligan and wrap again, but  I shall resist.

So since my 48 hours time is at the end of the day when I have had breakfast & snacks and water weight just attacking me all day, I chose to measure this morning. The progress is slow.. I am not that awesome individual that wraps once & looses 20" & 50 lbs (that's an exaggeration by the way), but I am happy to actually see a result in the mirror, as well as on the measuring tape.

So now I continue.. I'll grab my water bottle and a small breakfast.. (Yes, it's 9:48a and I have yet to eat), and get my day going.

Gotta get moving to make a permanent change, right!

I forgot to add the picture of my wrapped up self in my 1st post, so I am including it today.. This was Monday when I wrapped myself... I eventually smoothed it out and wore a body hugging tank top to keep it in place :)

Winner Announced via Rafflecopter has chosen the winner to be

#18 Robyn

The winner has been emailed and has 48 hours to confirm.

My Vulnerable Update: Not quite 24 hours later

So I posted last week that I had decided to try the Fat Blasting Wrap..
Well, my 1st shipment arrived yesterday (Monday) and I tried my 1st one.
The 1st wrap, you are only supposed to wear it for 45 minutes.
I did my measurements, took my before photos and wrapped my belly..
I set the oven timer because well, I can get distracted easily with the 3 boys pulling me this way and that.

After all was done, I did not get that awesome "OMG" feeling like I had hoped. Why, My before and 50 minute later pictures look exactly the same... Not like what I have seen online. Heck, I guarantee my 24 hour picture will look just like my 50 minute later picture...

But there was a small change and I did ONLY wear it for 45 minutes..

Please note these are my personal pictures. It is difficult enough to take them and look at them, much less share them. Please do not post negative or rude comments...

I dislike drinking water .. PERIOD, but I am on 40 oz right now... I'm hoping this helps...

My 24 hour picture will be at 5:20p tonight, 48 Hours=5:20p Wednesday, & 72 hours=5:20p Thursday.

I can wrap every 72 hours. We have alot going on Friday so I will wrap on Saturday Morning.
I am easily discouraged and this is no exception. Right now I am feeling a bit down about it but I didn't get like this overnight and I cannot expect it to go away overnight.

3 C-Sections really just did a number on my body  although I have struggled all my life with my weight.

I'll be posting about my journey regularly and keeping myself Vulnerable !

Shushybye Close your Eyes (Book and CD review) Giveaway

My boys are bed time procrastinators... B-I-G  T-I-M-E!
It's hard to get them all 3 settled at once.
I received the Close You Eyes book just in time to get us all in the Back To School routine.

My 8 year old didn't seem to take to the story. He'd rather just lay in the dark.
My 5 & 2 year old boys and I sit on the floor up against the bunk beds and read the book.
Christopher likes the illustrations. Anthony likes that there is a dream train visiting him..
This book is a great item for our family!

The Shushybye Close Your Eyes CD swaps our occasionally the regular sleepy time CD in the younger boys room. It is a peaceful cd and they seem to really enjoy it. I have to admit, it can lull you to sleep! It works on my kids

Some Information about Shushybye:
Shushybye is an original preschool entertainment and lifestyle brand, encompassing a national television series, national radio show, Video On Demand programming, series of bedtime storybooks, toys and plush dolls, music CDs, DVDs and sleepwear.
Shushybye is all about dreams…dreams made especially for children by the Shushies who live in Shushybye villages such as Nap Valley, Snore Shore and Slumber Heights.  But children have to go to bed on time in order to get their Shushybye dreams (i.e. when Mommy tells them!).  Children make their Dream Wish before they go to sleep.  The Shushies handcraft their wishes into unique dreams which are then placed in Dream Boxes.  Conductor McCloud puts the Dream Boxes on the Shushybye Train and transports them to children as they fall asleep on time.

Massaging Gel Insoles make my feet Super Happy ! #imabzzagent

I love my Tennis Shoes again!
After a week of them in NY, I wanted never again to put on my tennis shoes. The thought made me cringe. My feet hurt for what seemed like forever.

Thanks to Bzzagent, I have been able to receive, review, and enjoy some Sr. Scholl's Massage gel Insoles. For 3 days, I've been living in my tennis shoes. We did some back to school shopping yesterday and I loved it! I didn't take my shoes off in the car because my feet hurt so much...

The Massaging Gel Insoles are cushioned inserts that help provide all day comfort and support for your feet.

I am looking forward to hitting the gym again because my feet won't hurt. I'll be motivated to walk more because I won't dread putting on my shoes.

StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors with StinkyKids Max review

Inspired by real people, each lovable StinkyKids character is a “Leader Of Good” of a life lesson. Each StinkyKids also has his or her own distinct and unique
personality bringing a creative world of pretend to kids.

StinkyKids are kids who enjoy the innocence of childhood, just being a kid. They may get into a little innocent mischief and are not perfect. But at the end of
the day, these “little stinKers” are kids we are proud of, who have big hearts
and strive to be “Leaders Of Good.”
We had the privilege to review StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors, along with StinkyKid Max.

I really like that the StinkyKids face "real life" situations and I can totally related to this story.

Luke and Anthony could relate the book, they understood and really liked reading a book with the morals and lessons from a  "real kids" perspective. The book really portrays kids essence some to life. They face the consequences of their actions. An important lesson for all!

Christopher and StinkyKid Max are great friends. CJ likes that S.K. Max wears underwear ;)

Anthony likes it so much, he wants to share it with my Kindergarten class... And school hasn't even begun yet! Love my 5 year old!

It's been raining like crazy so today we decided to exert some energy. We have used one of our Eversave deals and visited a bounce house establishment. We even brought Luke's best friend. They had a blast!

What do you do to get out some if your extra energy?

Adventures with Wiggleworm #SlipOnHUGGIES

Anyone who has children knows that sometimes, the wiggles are part of life.
I like wiggle worms, especially when they are laughing and smiling. But not when I am changing diapers.

My oldest, he was not a wiggle worm. He was nice & calm.. My 2nd son, He was my squirmy worm. He did not like to sit still for any reason, and nothing has changed in his 5 1/2 years on this earth!

My youngest son, that's my wiggle worm! If I blink, he's gone. He moves so fast it isn't even funny! ESPECIALLY when it's diaper-changing time.

It wasn't terribly bad until about 8 months when he could roll around, or even 11 months when he found out he could walk. But a diaper change now is sometimes pure torture.

He recently went into a "Big Boy Bed" so I have no changing table. He finds toys on the floor where I change him or he roots around to watch a DVD on TV. Forget the diaper change if he hears his brothers doing something fun. I have to chase him and sometimes catch him, to even finish with the whole process.

I recently saw an ad for Huggies Slip-ons. I cannot wait to buy them. I saw them in the drug store in passing and didn't buy them at that moment. Big Mistake! I have coupons and sale ads on hand and NO ONE has them in stock! I have done the training pants and some work and some don't. I love Huggies and am very eager to try the new Slip-Ons.

Huggies has always been a staple in my home with my children. They have provided excellent coverage with minimal leaks. I love the overnight line!

That’s why I am excited to try this new product.

I can always count on Huggies for quality products. I have had the opportunity to contact Customer Service with a problem (with my 2nd son) and their Customer Service department is fantastic. My issues were addressed and rectified with no additional stress or worries. That’s rare!

When I purchase gifts for baby showers, Huggies is always in my gift package. I actually just bought my friend (who is almost 5 months pregnant) some Pure and Natural diapers for her impending newborn. I think Huggies diapers should be a staple in every baby shower gift!

I am still on the hunt for the new Huggies Slip on Diapers and hopefully will find them soon..

EvoraPlus Probiotics for Oral care (Review)

Do you brush, floss, and use mouthwash daily? Do you use harsh chemicals to brighten your smile?
I have in the past and they tend to burn my gums. I've tried different toothpastes and mouthwashes that "claim" they help whiten your smile, but I'm not sure they do.

I just started using this and I am hoping my smile gets a little brighter, but I have already noticed my gums are not as sensitive and my breath is generally fresher. This is awesome as I am not a huge fan of the dentist!

Used as directed, this product can help freshen breath, whiten teeth, and support gum and tooth health.

If you'd like to purchase this product, visit out and click on the ‘store’ tab, with the code EPLUS811, you can receive $5 off at check-out.  The coupon is good until August 31, 2011. (Coupon good for US only).

Daily Thought

“Always let them think of you as singing and dancing.”

This is particularly awesome for me. Last night, Anthony (5) and Luke (8) wanted to watch Rio (Thank you Blockbuster Kiosk for having it) and Christopher wanted to dance. He didn't choose me as his partner, but his daddy.. I  kept hearing him from the kitchen, "Daddy Dance, Daddy dance".. So the dishes fell by the way-side and I plopped on the couch to watch my 2 year old and his daddy dance silly in the living room..
These are the things I want my kiddos to remember fondly....

solareclipz EZShade review and giveaway

I was able to review my ezShade finally between the wind and rain and I have to say, I really love it...
The ezShade by solareclipz is durable, easy to attach, and provides a great protection from the sun.

I chose the Blue ezShade that attaches to my umbrella. Usually, I just set it up for my 5 year old so he has some shade in the front yard when he plays. Now, He has extra shade and loves it!

The ezShade has a UPF of 50+ and blocks over 99% of UVA and UVB rays.
Once the ezShade is attached to your umbrella or canopy, the bottom hook and loop pocket can be adjusted to the height of your canopy and weighted with sand, water bottles or other objects to stabilize your canopy. The ezShade is easy to transport and comes with a matching tote.

The ezShade umbrella comes in 3 colors, blue, red and green.

ABOUT SOLAR ECLIPZ: The ezShade was invented by a mom with 2 active kids. As such, you can rest assured that the ezShade is both durable and easy to use. AWARDS: The ezShade is the recipient of an Outstanding Product Award from Disney’s iParenting Media Award, is endorsed by the Melanoma International Foundation and a winner of the Huggies’ MomInspired Grant Program.

Here are my review videos

I have some reviews and giveaways coming

So I have this great product called the ezshade.
It looks awesome and every time i want to set it up, it rains.
It is the rainy time here in Central FL and we are in the middle of Hurricane Season (I never prepare, haven't had any bad storms in my area in years).
I'll get it up soon, even if it's cloudy.. ugh..

I also have some great books and cleaners...

I am also working on Blogmania sponsors for October and have a couple lined up.

I only have a few more likes until we get to donate to our local food bank. I am hoping to hit 500 fans so that we can donate 100 food and toiletry items next week.
Palm Harbor Local Community Outreach

I also have the 2500/3K facebook fan giveaway going on. I have some wonderful sponsors who have donated over $180 in prizes to some lucky winners!
Everyday Ramblings of My Life

Just wanted to share some info. I have been sporadic on here lately. School begins soon and I'll be less distracted, which equals more blogging time.

Is it wrong to be happy that school is beginning again?

Our children look forward to summer vacation. Sleeping in, swimming and playing all day. I look forward to a break in the routine. We get to see Hubby off to work as a family[something the boys love and hubby does too], or have lunch with him. We love to enjoy vacations with no rushing back because we don't want the kids to miss a day of school.

But over the last week or so, I've been secretly looking forward to it. Looking forward to Anthony starting Kindergarten and meet new friends. Excited for Luke to get back into the swing of things and begin 3rd grade. Our Scout routine starts back, CCD, and back to Karate, since we took a break.
There are 19 days (including weekends) left. We do have some fun things still planned. Luke has a fun birthday party to go to (go-karts, arcade, putt putt and (gulp) bungee jumping[trampoline style]), a day at the bounce house place Jump Zone (which I scored a great Eversave deal on).
Anthony loves to ride his bike to the library with his best friend and (our next door neighbor) and his mom. Of course we have the pool, friends, family birthdays (which means yummy cake Papa makes from scratch).

I'll be at home with just one child. Just my 2 year old. And then, he'll spend one day a week back in Kids Morning Out.

You know what will happen a month into school, we'll start counting down to breaks, holidays, and days off and by April, we'll begin the itch for summer vacation again.

My friend in Georgia, her son began school this past Monday, but of course, he gets out of school earlier too. She called to express her sheer joy over how nice it was to shop without a child (she only has one), or get a haircut without waiting for her hubby to get off of work. I was a tad bit jealous. I want that time back.

But even though I am longing for school to start, for that time from 8:35 to 2:50 except on early release days, I am going to miss my monster trolls. Their little brother will miss them. He will wander around the house looking for them. I'll miss them playing int he pool, or peeking in on them watching a movie.

Are you looking forward to school? Or longing for summer break to be longer...
