Tyler's Acid Free Coffee Review and Giveaway

Hubby is an avid coffee drinker.
Lately though, he has been drinking a lot of a low acid or acid free coffee.

I received a packet of Tyler's Coffee, Regular blend, Acid Free.

Tyler’s Coffee uses a “Z-Roasting” process that optimizes the time the coffee beans are cooked; the result is high levels of caffeine and free of acid. Benefits of an acid free coffee are tooth enamel is protected and teeth are stronger leading to fewer cavities.

When we opened the bag, it definitely smelled stronger and darker than what he normally drinks. It was a lot darker too.
Hubby does not usually drink a darker roast such as this one, and liked the initial flavor of it.
He added more creamer and a tad more sugar to it and then it was perfect.

Here is hubby's video review of the coffee. Please remember all opinions are his and each person likes a different roast and taste to coffee.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Christmas 2011 - Memories in a nutshell

The Christmas weekend seemed to fly by in a blink of an eye this year.

It was wonderful and seemingly not stressful, which is a change. My BIL & SIL were in Jacksonville with her family so we were minus 4 at our house, but even so, it seemed that the house was full.

The boys could have not asked for more wonderful thoughtful gifts. I think the best gift for each was Luke - a Karaoke machine, Anthony = A Ninjago set, Christopher = His train set.

My brother always gets me 1 gift that makes me cry. This year, it was a locket. The locket has a photo of my mom (her HS photo) and the outside is engraved with "Mom 1948-1992". It's truly beautiful.
Of course, in keeping with his & my tradition of annoying wrapping. The little box was wrapping a sequence of 5 boxes, all individually wrapped in their own wrapping paper and the ends taped with packing tape (yes, another annoying tradition we impose on each other).

My amazing hubby got me a beautiful opal (my birthstone) and diamond bracelet which apparently he had been eyeing for months, as well as other wonderful and well thought out gifts.

The boys and I decorated Sugar cookies (yes, we made them from scratch too) for dessert as well as I made chocolate cups with a chocolate mousse with raspberries for each person. Not pictured, each person's place card at the table was a sugar cookie stocking with their name in icing and decorated with sprinkles.

We had a very Merry Christmas and were blessed by our family, friends, and loved ones.

Here is a 55 second slide show of the festivities..

Planning of drinking this New years Eve? WebMD has some tips!

I received an email from WebMD about Hangover Myths.

I am not a huge drinker. I have had 1 hangover in my 38 years and that was 16 years ago on my 22nd birthday.

But some people like to have fun in excess on New Years Eve, so here is some information I am sharing from this article.

  • Women have a lower percentage of water intheir bodies than men. (Can we argue that one?) The alcohol can be more diluted in men, while in women, it builds up in the bloodstream faster.
  • Having water or a non-alcoholic beverage between [alcohol] beverages will keep you more hydrated and could reduce the amount of alcohol consumed overall.
  • Red wines can trigger headaches in some due to the tannins, as well as Malt liquor. The gentlest choices are beer and clear liquors, such as vodka and gin.
  • Some researchers belive that by consuming fruit juices, or other sugar-containing liquids can decrease hangover intensity. Instead of a Rum & Coke, try a Diet Rum and coke.
  • Avoid taking acetaminophen after a night of drinking. Alcohol disrupts how the liver processes acetaminophen, possibly leading to liver inflammation and permanent damage.
  • Coffee leads to more dehydration and could make your hangover worse. The best thing to do is to avoid anything with caffeine. Sip water and sports drinks to deter dehydration and replace lost electrolytes. This is especially important if you experienced any vomiting.

Alcohol Poisoning
Alcohol poisoning is a potentially deadly medical emergency. Symptoms of alcohol poisoning include:

  • Confusion, stupor
  • Vomiting
  • Seizures
  • Slow, irregular breathing
  • Low body temperature, bluish skin
It's easy to blow off these symptoms as the price of partying hard, but if you see someone vomit multiple times or pass out after drinking heavily, there’s a risk of severe dehydration or brain damage. A visit to the nearest emergency room is urgently needed.

If you choose to drink while celebrating the New Year (or any occasion), please drink responsibly and make sure you NEVER drive while intoxicated!

Stay Safe & Happy New Year!

Our Christmas Jar Project

So with my recent post about the Random Acts of Kindness going on, we decided to start our very own Christmas Jar. Generally, a Christmas Jar is something you pass along once you receive this random act of kindness. But we felt is was such an amazing gift, we are just going to begin our own. I hope this becomes a holiday tradition that carries on throughout our children's lives.

We saved a sauce jar, and decorated the top of it with stickers and painted out the words. I asked Luke what this jar meant to us. Out of our combines ramblings we came up with; "Make a Change" - "Change a Life"- "Change Yourself". I think these are all awesome and inspiring little sayings and I have taped them to the jar. The jar will remain in the kitchen so that it reminds us daily.

Luke always finds change in the parking lots, or on the roads walking to a friends house. He has declared that the change he finds will go into that jar, since it was not his to begin with. . We hope to add change daily, but know sometimes that may not happen, especially if there is a day I am home with no errands to run.

Luke had a thought though, and I am asking anyone who reads this to weigh in. He would like to use this particular jar for saving the money only. It's a decent sized jar and will hold a good amount of change. Luke would like to use smaller jars (such as our small jelly jars) for the actual distribution.

His reason behind this is, we can collect all the monies in the big jar but if we distribute in the smaller ones, more than one person or one family can benefit from our RAOK. We thought we'd cash in our change for dollar bills and then begin filling smaller jars around Halloween. We would still collect our change through the 1st week of December and then figure out who, where, and when to perform these act of kindness.

We have yet to determine how to choose who would receive the jar(s) and of course, circumstances of loved ones, family, friends, and neighbors ove rthe next year could impact this decision.

Would you do one jar with a large sum or smaller jars with smaller sums?

Do you attend Trade Shows? Here are some great necessities

Used in trade shows, trade show flooring comes in a variety of styles and shapes. Trade show carpet is the most common I have seen. There is even a line of printed flooring, so that end users can add a logo or message to the flooring. Logo mats are a fabulous way to make sure that not only can people see your products but when they look away or are walking toward you, they remember your name!

Offices, stores, retail outlets and retail chains often times use logo mats. Logo mats can be printed in several different ways. Inlaid logos are common and full color digital images can be produced.

A printed logo canopy using EZ Up products and other styles of printed tents are used by a wide variety of companies selling products on the go.

Items such as these are not just for large companies, but small one person operations who  participate in outdoor events, these canopies are the mainstay of presenters at all types of fairs and festivals.

It's a great way to draw positive advertising and attention to your product/business.

Random Acts of Kindness

Mom vs the Boys

On Mom Vs. the Boys (another mom with 3 boys), she posted a link on her facebook page to a great blog about a family who Chronicles their Random Acts of Kindness.

The Tilford Family Random Acts of Kindness Project is a blog about a family of 4 and their RAOK. These RAOK range from opening doors, thank you notes,
helping families in need [ones they know and ones they don't].

I read several pages of blog entry posts and it warmed my heart at the kindness this family bestows on family, neighbors, and strangers.

This also prompts me to tell you about MY neighbor. Her family of 6 struggles on 1 income and they will be moving within the next week to a less expensive home. This makes my 9yo sad because this is his best friend and family.

She called me yesterday to tell me about her Christmas miracle. Her family received a Christmas Jar.
She initially thought it was someone she knew, but it turns out, the jar was put in her hubby's truck while he and his son were at the beach on Christmas Eve (yes, you read that correctly, it was 80 here Christmas Weekend). She did not give me a $$ amount, but told me there were some $1's, change, and a $50 bill. They were beside themselves.

A Christmas Jar is a pickle jar, peanut butter jar, Mason jar or whatever else you have around to collect your spare change each day. All coins are dedicated to the jar, and during the week before Christmas you carefully select someone to give it to anonymously. Simply put your jar on their porch, in their car, on their desk--wherever--and you could change their life for good!
You'll be surprised how much change you can generate and how much you can affect someone's life.

I love these wonderful gifts from families, to families. I love that these RAOK teach our children that giving has rewards, the kind that touch their hearts. I love that we can make a difference in a HUGE way by so many SMALL efforts!

I want to begin my own jar, my own RAOK. These idea are amazing and fabulous! I want my children to participate in the joy of giving to others, a practice we already do with our community project, but we can always do more to help, assist, and make others smile!

Christmas in West Central Florida

Everyone always says "white Christmas" or "It's so cold outside", but not here !

We usually can wear shirts, t-shirts, and flip flops on Christmas Day. Folks are swimming in their pools and strolling along the beach.

I've never had a "White Christmas". Our boys are dying to see snow. Hubby desperately wants to move back up north.

Does anyone else have the not-so-cold Christmas going on?

Building a Gingerbread House

I confess, in my 38 years, this is the very 1st time I have ever created a gingerbread house.

I don't like gingerbread, so I'm not eating it, but the boys had fun creating their little eatable house and all 4 boys (kiddos + hubby) really enjoyed eating it.

Hubby brought home a kit from work. The boys were so excited today and my poor Anth waited all day to do it.

Putting together the house wasn't so hard but the icing bag seam busted (right in the center of the bag too, wouldn't ya know it) and the gum drops and I had some words!

But in the end, the memories made with my boys were worth doing a million times over !!!

Enjoy our photo slide show :)

Don't forget about these giveaways!

Blue Sky Scrubs for Healthcare Professionals

Blue Sky Scrubs has everything for your discount scrubs needs.
While I am not in the health care profession, my BFF is and I thought about finding some new scrub sets for her for the holidays.

Nothing says "You're my Best Friend" like a new set of  cotton scrubs. I decided not to get them and go with lunch and a pedi instead.

I sent her the link to and asked her about the selection. She loved them!
(which makes me think I should have gotten her some)

Here are some things I did not know about scrubs. In certain areas of certain hospitals, you can only wear a designated color (or colors). Not all scrubs are created equal. not only offers quality, but the prices for "nice" scrubs are extremely competitive.

Scrubs are not just for adults. Lydias uniforms for the kiddos are just as appropriate and cute as the adult version!

You can also order custom scrubs ! How Cool is that!

Picasso Hair Feather Extensions - Fun for your hair! Review and Giveaway

I tried some awesome feather hair extensions extensions recently and LOVED them!
These hair feathers lay underneath your hair just a bit but give some awesome added funkiness to it!
I chose the Smokin' Siren hair feathers, since I do love the red so much!

I was a little intimidated at first to apply these, but really, they were so simple, it was crazy!

I wore the brown and red for about 2 weeks before I removed them (super easy to do) so I could re-color my hair.

Now, I admit, need a pair of pliers seemed a little odd to me at first, but it truly makes sense once you see the How To video and actually put them in. AND if you save the little loop, you can reuse them if you take them out. How cool is that!

The feathers are kink-free, animal friendly (meaning that they do not produce these by being cruel to animals) and 14" long. There is een a How To Video on how to properly trim them if they are longer than your hair (and yes I did that too).

Here is a vid of me applying my hair feathers

You can win yourself a pair of these great Hair Feather extension!
And yes, this one is open to Canada Residents!

$10.00 Amex Gift Card Giveaway

I FINALLY earned my 1st Gift Card through the CVS gift card program. You know the one, where you buy $30.00 worth of certain products and you get a $10.00 gift card. It took me 2 months to actually accumulate this because I'm not going to buy things I don't need just to get a gift card.
Yesterday, I decided that out of the few selections I get, that an Amex Gift Card would be the very best idea.

I am going to pass that along to one of YOU!

Scrolls from Santa [review] A treat for my boys!

Does your child believe in Santa? Or is he/she on the verge of "not believing"? strengthened my children's belief and when they took it to school and shared it with their teachers and friends, [I was told] some believers were reaffirmed

Allow your child to experience some North Pole magic
with a personalized scroll from Santa.

This fantastic package comes with an official North Pole seal, an authentic letter, one package of Rudolph Character Bands (think silly bands) and either: two pairs of "Christmas Vision Glasses" or one tube of Insta-Snow. It ships in the North Pole with a detachable Christmas ornament, post-marked via the North Pole, and addressed to your child.

We received the set of glasses which the boys have EVERYONE try on, as soon they step foot into the house and the Candy cane striped tube has a prominent place on display in the house. The ornament is on the very front of the tree and they "know" it came right from Santa. Instead of one name, I had it personalized with all 3 of the boys names.

I am so pleased with this product and even more pleased that my children, can still believe in just the simple things and not grow up so fast.

If you are interested in purchasing one of the packages, please check out You can choose Scrolls for the Nice list AND Scrolls for the Naughty list (in case you want to get someone into shape, or maybe even a spouse or Significant other to get them into shape). They even offer stocking stuffers!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
