Take the Time to Call

I have received many free items or refunds just because I take the time to call a company. I was using a dishwasher soap that left residue on my dishes. When I called the 800 number, I was told that a certain powder they sold was better than liquid, and they sent me a coupon for two free boxes of their item.

Our carbon monoxide alarm started acting weird after two years and I was going to throw it out and buy another. Instead, I decided to call the company to see if there was anything I could do to fix it. After giving the serial number, I was told a new one would be sent to me free of charge.

I could give you more examples! So, the old saying "if you don't ask, you don't get" is really true.

Do you call companies to complain or praise the products? I've done it in the past.
For instance, Kid Essentials will send you coupons if you call them.

I emailed Glade once to praise them for their oil candles and I received several coupons for free products.

Who have you called lately?

  1. I actually just called my vacuum company about a torn hose and they sent me another one for free. I don't think I've ever called a company to praise them though... may have to consider that.
