Our 2013 New Years Tree

I was reading Facebook last week and came across a blog post/link from Our Best Bites.
The post was about how they turned their Christmas tree into a New Years Tree.

I liked the idea and ran it past hubby and he really liked it as well.
I used the basis of the tree and customized the idea tree to my family.
I added items that we can use on new years eve. 2013 glasses, some hats and beads.
I added streamers and noise makers too.

There were balloons added to the tree and they had jokes and money and trinkets but I changed that up for my tree.
I chose to put their items in their stockings and leave a note in a balloon to check the stocking. I put in a little candy, a couple of small Pokemon cards, and scratch off lotto tickets for hubby. The other balloon has a quote of wisdom for each of us to live by for the next year. I found quotes that could apply to all of us.
The boys loved the tree. They were gone all morning so they were surprised when they got home this afternoon.

Anthony wanted to try on some of the fun items that were on the tree.

  3. That is such an adorable idea! I am totally stealing it. It also gives me an excuse for leaving the tree up a few extra days (I usually take it down on the 26th.) Love the previous comment about putting resolutions on the tree!
