A drawing of Dad and Mom - CJ loves our heart

Valentine's Day Ideas - creating our gifts by hand, from the heart

After reading about a couple of Bloggers issuing challenges (or being issued a challenge by their spouse), I did the same. I am not sure hubby is thrilled with my challenge. He is a procrastinator and would end up picking something up on the way home.

I made the challenge to him to make, write, create his own valentine this year. It's not that he isn't a creative guy, he's quite talented, but it's getting him to think ahead of time, that is actually the challenge.

Of course, since I am home, I am already thinking ahead.
Dinner at home (and our scout meeting for that night was cancelled already, yay). The boys and I will bake a heart shaped cookie cake. I think I'll let them decorate it (yikes).

Cubs Scouts -> Pinewood Derby -> All Consuming !!!

I'm very proud to be a Cub Scout Mom. I am heavily involved with our Pack.
I am Secretary, Fundraising Coordinator, Popcorn Colonel, Event Organizer, T-Shirt Sales, and handle the scheduling of meetings/events with whatever location we are going to.

This month, I added Pinewood Derby Coordinator to my growing resume.
The past 3 years have been a cluster of disasters. This was my 1st year officially without the person who had been organizing things since we began scouts.

My boys love TruMoo .. I do too ! #GotItFree

My boys absolutely LOVE chocolate milk.
They can sometimes be picky about how I make it.
However, they can't get enough of TruMoo !
I think if they could drink it with every meal, they would.
TruMoo has less sugar than other premade Chocolate milk brands and has Vitamins A & D as well as Calcium (of course). I have to admit that I too have tried TruMoo and like it better than other premade Chocolate milk brands that I have tried. It has a creamy, silky texture and a delicious taste.
I swear I could freeze it and make it into the most perfect chocolate milkshake !
The boys were excited to be able to review TruMoo. I can't think of anything in the recent future I've heard them scream over like when we received our TruMoo BzzKit (not counting Christmas).

We've begun our Christmas Jar again 2013

No, I didn't photograph the end result of out 2012 Christmas jar. I must say it was a little disappointing. I let myself down over the summer and didn't add as constantly as I should've/coud've.

I allowed Luke to choose the recipient and how they would receive our very 1st jar.

He chose a neighbor. A single mom with 1 child who works 2 jobs. She is a friend of ours. Her son was in scouts with Luke for 3 years (before he graduated to Boy Scouts).
She volunteered [as much as I do] and helped coordinate events for the boys. She was a wonderful Den Leader and an asset to our Cub Scout Pack.

We ended up with just over $45.00. I opted to put everything in a new jar, so we could keep our original. We put the jar in a box and  added a Christmas card to it. My intention was to leave the jar, but Luke chose otherwise.

He wanted to hand it to her and have her open it in front of him. And so he did. She was confused, surprised, and once I explained to her what the "Christmas Jar" concept was, she cried [so did I].

And so now we begin anew. I have informed Luke that we will do the jar this year, the way it was intended, anonymous.

We put in change from our cars, wallets, and even the boys added the change from their piggy banks (mostly pennies) and we have been diligent on our efforts so far.
I am hoping I can keep up he good pace and the boys continue to help contribute.
If anyone has decided to start their own jar, or has received a jar, please tell us.
I love hearing about Random Acts of Kindness

I got to go Shopping Alone :) #Target #CBias

I love shopping at Target. It's one of my favorite places. Totally beats the mall !

The boys were enjoying the circus with their Dad and Aunt, so I took the opportunity to head out shopping alone !

It wasn't terribly crowded and it was nice to take my time. I had a couple of purchases in mind, things I needed to get, but otherwise, the time was all mine...

Luke needed pants for Webelos I. They need to wear green Khaki and the pants I bought him were on clearance (YAY). Anthony outgrew the sweatshirt, for cold weather, so he needed a new one. These boys grow too fast. Normally, we'd have a hand me down in place, but it somehow ripped. A ploy for a new one? I wonder! It was cold for a good week. Now we are back to shorts weather.

I returned a toy earlier in the day. CJ received something that was out of his age range , and honestly, had too many pieces. I found a Hot Wheels Angry Birds Slingshot Set, on clearance. And He LOVES it !

I wondered in circles for a bit, enjoying not being pulled in this way or that and finally, I resigned myself on bettering me. I joined Weight Watchers recently and needed some additional "equipment" in the form of clothing..

I truly love wandering the store, even if I don't purchase anything. I have those rare occasions where I don't have any children and get to do this..

Want to check out my shopping trip? I added my photos to Google +
