It's only been a year since I really began running. Next month I will be running the local Midnight run, which is not only the very 1st run I had ever signed up for, but it was a 1st for hubby as well.
It was also the first time we had ever run together, ever !
Since that time, I have gone further than I thought. Not really in miles, but in attitude, desire, and determination. I am happy to say that since I decided to take this leap, my family has followed.
My husband ran his 1st ever registered run, without me, this past weekend. Last month I ran the Mother's Day 5k at a local park and on June 15th, hubby ran the Father's Day 5k.
He began the 5k with our 11 year old beside him, and crossed the finish line 10 minutes before him.
Luke decided to be funny and speed off instead of pace himself
but hubby didn't play along.
My husband ended up setting a Personal Record for his 2nd 5k (his 1st being Thanksgiving Day 2013 at the Turkey Trot) beating his previous time by 6 minutes.
Luke beat his Run or Dye time [from March 2014] by 3 minutes.
The 2 younger boys did the 1/2 mile run just as they did on Mother's Day.

I have a long way to go on my journey, but I know I won't be doing it alone.
