Disclosure: In exchange for sharing awesome information, Food was provided.
This week, I was able to attend my very first Social Media Day with NHIE Tampa (Never Have I Ever Tampa Bay) and meet the most AWESOME group of people !
The Pinellas meet up was at Yard of Ale Gastro Pub in Clearwater, FL.
After meeting Nicholas, Ryan, and Allison and learning more about NHEI Tampa, we were treated to some delicious food and drink.
Before I get to the yumminess we sampled, let me tell you a little bit about some things I learned during #SMDAYTAMPA .
NHIE Tampa Bay is an amazing group that shares community and social events in the Tampa Bay, FL area. While I did not attend the evening event, it was fabulous and NHIE Tampa is committed to partnering with and assisting charities in our area as well. The evening event benefited the Children's Cancer Center. A worthy and fabulous cause.

We also learned about a new app for your iPhone (and soon for the Android) called Drawer.
Check it out at GetDrawer.com . You can Track places you want to try, share those places with friends and even read about experiences. This app is not just for restaurants but any location. I found a Sporting Goods store in TN, a Bar in New York and even information about an airport outside of Ethiopia.
I learned so much and look forward to attending as many events as I can swing with NHIE Tampa.
Now, to the food !!!
I am not really a beer girl but I did taste [from a very small cup] each of Beer Flight samples they provided. From right to left, Samuel Adams Summer Ale, Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Fat Tire New Belgium, and Cigar City Jai Alai IPA.
The only one I could see myself drinking was the Angry Orchard Hard Cider. The rest just tasted like "beer" to me.
The Thai Chili Shrimp was good. I'm so plain and was afraid of the Thai Chili part but I was surprised at how my mouth didn't catch on fire. It was cooked perfectly
There was Chicken Flatbread and twice baked Tullamore Dew BBQ Wings
Chef CJ came out and described each dish for us, he told us how everything was made and why they use some of the indgredients they do. The assortment of food he prepared was fabulous and each presentation was perfect
The environment was so relaxing and great for all types of events and functions/
The star of my plate though was the Shepard's Pie. I had never tried one before and I could have gorged and eaten the entire portion. I'm going to have to learn how to make this dish !
Not picture, but a favorite of my co-blog collaborator, my husband, was the Red Snapper.
He loved this dish and raved about it the entire time we were there.
I am grateful to NHIE Tampa for allowing us to attend. Meeting Allison, Ryan, and Nicholas was fabulous. They are a great group of people. I can't wait until the Drawer app is available for my phone. And if you are ever in the Feathersound area of Clearwater, you MUST go to Yard of Ale gastro Pub. Try the Red Snapper or Shepard's Pie and order an Opies Mule !!!
