Giving Back in Tampa Bay with #GiveandGrub and @LaserSpine #sponsored

Gourmet Food with a Purpose.
You Buy. We Give. We All Win
Did you know that 1 in 4 children in the Tampa Bay area go hungry. That's about 250,000 children out of the 700,000 people in the West Central Florida area. Feeding America Tampa Bay and Metropolitan Ministries assist in providing the hungry with food.
At the beginning of the  2014/2015 Tampa Bay Lightning season, Laser Spine Institute and the Tampa Bay Lightning partnered together to help the Tampa Bay community fight hunger. We are Tampa Bay helping Tampa Bay. Laser Spine Institute and the Tampa Bay Lightning have teamed up to fight hunger in the Tampa Bay area through the Give and Grub food truck - a unique new way for the company and the NHL franchise to stick it to hunger right here in our local community.
For every gourmet menu item sold at the Give and Grub food truck, Laser Spine Institute will donate a meal to a hungry child in the Tampa Bay area. The project is supported by a partnership with Feeding America Tampa Bay and Metropolitan Ministries.
The Give and Grub Food Truck travels the Tampa Bay area, Lightning Home Games, local events, and outside of the Laser Spine Institute office in Tampa during lunch hours.
The truck hosts a gourmet menu named after Lightning personnel and inspired by some of their favorite foods, like Cooper’s Candied JalapeƱo Burger (Coach Jon Cooper), a Chicken Parmkos Sandwich (Steven Stamkos) or Callahan’s Mac Slam (Ryan Callahan).
I was lucky enough to be able to sample the Hedman's Steak Tacos .. Oh My Goodness !!
They were so very good ! The prices are reasonable and knowing that you are providing a meal when you purchase one, makes you even happier when eating your delicious meal.
Here are some statistics.
Give & Grub  offers you the chance to change Tampa Bay and help ensure more children are able to receive food. Giving back has never tasted so good. All you have to do is buy a meal — it’s that simple. For every meal purchased at our Give and Grub food truck, another meal will be donated to someone in need.

During my visit to the Give and Grub Truck while parked at The Laser Spine Institute, I met with Josh who told me about the partnership, how the menu was developed, and how the employees participate in giving back to the area. There are 2 schools, 1 in Hillsborough County and 1 in Pinellas County, that receive a weekend meal kit. Employees visit these schools and hand out food to the students. They are making sure that these children eat over the weekend. It's frightening to know that many of these children only have meals when they are at school.
I also learned that you can have the Give and Grub Truck come to your place of business, Social Event, and even a wedding !
For every tweet that includes #GiveandGrub, one meal will be donated. So if you cannot make it to a Tampa Bay Lightning Game or to one of the locations where the Give and Grub truck is serving lunch, you can still participate in giving back to the Tampa Bay Community

  1. This sounds like a great cause. I would like to try to help with something around the Chicago area.

Thank you for sharing your ramblings with me
