Treehoppers Aerial Adventure opens Sept 19th but you can get a sneak peek here Plus win tickets ! #ad

Disclosure: I have received complimentary admission to Treehoppers Aerial Adventure in addition to facilitating a giveaway. All opinions are my own.

This week, my friend and fellow blogger, Denise from RunDMT had the opportunity to attend the Grand Opening of Treehoppers Aerial Adventure.

Treehoppers is located in Dade City, Florida [in Pasco County]. This Aerial Adventure is situated on 60 acres of land with 8 courses with over 100 elements. The courses range from easy, to intermediate, to advanced, and then expert. You won't find me on those expert course for a long time !

We arrived for the grand opening of Treehoppers and enjoyed watching the guides getting into place to assist those who were going to be climbing that day.

Benjamin Nagengast, Ceo of Treehoppers, as well as Dade City Mayor Camille Hernandez were on hand to tell us more about the hopes and dreams of Treehoppers for the Greater Tampa Bay area.

After the ceremony, including the ribbon cutting, we were suited up in a harness and took a small, but highly informative and important training/safety course. This is something you do when you arrive for the 1st time. Though I'm not sure I'll be able to put that harness on again by myself.

The guides were well trained and amazingly helpful. If you need help, just yell STAFF !!!
I'm not saying which one of us did it, but it was yelled at least once.

Here's a small portion of our training...

Denise and I decided on the Sunflower Course. The beginner course was a perfect blend of different elements to challenge me, for my 1st time experience. It was nice knowing that Dade City Mayor Hernandez chose this course as well. If she could do it, so could I !

On this course, we encountered a cargo net, 3 zip lines, plus plenty of wires and logs to walk across. I think it took us about an hour to finish just this course. I was being super cautious. I'm not a huge fan of heights.
That's me ! on one of the Sunflower Course Elements

We were able to watch some of the other climbers on different course and take on different elements. There are a couple of them that are (obviously) expert and I may never have the courage to try them, but it was fun to watch others be that brave.

As far as my experience, I recommend as sleeved shirt. Sleeveless shirts allow access to skin to wire contact and they can run your skin red. Also, longer shorts. The harness wraps around your legs and sometimes, there is slack. Think of an airline seat belt rubbing against your legs for 2 hours. No Daisy Dukes recommended !!!
Be prepared to sweat. We joked that we should have brought towels with us. The canopy of trees helps with shade, but you are working hard out there.
Phase 2 Pro Shop coming soon

There are tables for picnics and plenty of walkways for your loved ones, who wish to only spectate, to capture photo and video of you. In the words of the wise Trainer Ken,
Safety before Selfie !
