I wanted to give you an update on our holiday. I have been slacking in personal posts, so this will be the beginning of a lot of sharing to come.

1st, I want to update you on our "Want, Need, Wear, Read" Christmas.
The boys loved their Christmas. They grandparents stuck to the list we gave them, and honestly, we couldn't have been more pleased. The toys were minimal for our kids, as were the gift cards. Clothes and books were everywhere and no one whined or cried.
That makes for a happy Mama.
They did get toys and there were a couple of video games, but nothing excessive or over the top.
CJ loved the watch he received and Anthony was shown just how much he resembles his Dad.

We also had 17 people for dinner. That includes the 5 of us, but that is the most we've had in our home for a holiday. My Mother-In-Law suggested we eat outside. The weather cooled to 80-ish and we had 2 oscillating fans set up at opposite ends of the table. We also had some citronella candles to fend off any bugs.
My hubs was surprised at how pleasant everything went for dinner, and I was delighted.
It was easier for us to socialize and if something spilled, we were outside. The dogs (my Jack Russell and my SIL's French Bulldog) were able to also run around and enjoy the outdoors.

It's not easy to stop Aunt's, Uncles, Grandparents and friends from spoiling the kids. As you can tell from this photo, it looks like everyone went crazy. But all of these gifts were, from 5 families and for 17 people, 5 of them children. Our nieces got more toys than the boys, and I thought the boys would be upset, but they were not. I'm very grateful for that.
The weekend before Christmas, we hosted our 2nd annual cookie party. We invited family, friends and neighbors over for a cookout and let the kids make crafts and decorate sugar cookies. for 5 hours, there were easily 15 kids running in and out of our home and I never saw a tear shed. Friends mingled and chatted and that, is what the season is for.
