I read this little snippet from the 1/5/16 edition of "The Dollar Stretcher" and I'm going to try and keep this one for 2016.

|Most weeks when I shop, I buy a $10 or $15 gift card for the grocery store. I keep a collection of them for months that money is tighter than usual. I can use one or two to avoid bringing out the credit cards. Then at Christmas, when we do some entertaining, I don't have to worry about the extra expense. I've already paid for it earlier in the year!|
This week, when I stopped at the grocery store for breakfast items, I picked up a $5.00 gift card. I really would like to try this all year. I shop at Walmart and Winn-Dixie. Those are my main shopping stops. I plan to pick up a $5.00 Walmart gift card every time I shop.
I like the idea of saving them for if money is tight, or using what I have leftover, for Christmas shopping at the end of the year.

But if we have a good year, or even if we don't, I think it would be nice to gift a couple of these gift cards. $5.00 may not be much, but it could be a shining light in someone's otherwise dark day.
I can't wait to update on my gift card collection throughout the year.
What would you do with your gift cards?
